I see a lot of people trying to judge TT vs. Sherman, or complain about the team's direction/lack of activity in free-agency. I have to ask you all:

Was this a 6-10 team with 6-10 level talent (or worse), or was it a 6-10 team with 10-6 level talent (or better)?

There's no complaining about injuries or free agency here, lets just judge the overall talent level of the team and see if the players lived up to that record.

Some examples (my opinion of course):

The Lions last year were an 0-16 team with 0-16 level talent (or worse, if that's possible).
The Seahawks last year were a 4-12 team with 8-8 level talent (or better).
The Titans last year were a 13-3 team with 8-8 level talent (or worse).
The Bears last year were a 9-7 team with 6-10 level talent (or worse).

I'll argue 2 things:

1. During the Sherman era, we were a 6-10 talent level team that finished above that every year thanks to one Mr. Brett Favre.

2. Today, we're a 6-10 team with 11-5 talent (OR BETTER if we hit with our first few picks in the draft this year).

Thoughts?

We were 6-10 but like 6 game losses of 3 points or fewer. Were close to a healthy quick turn around.

I think the Packers were better than a 6-10 team, maybe more 8-8 level.

We'll find out quite a bit this year. Ted and McCarthy need to see some of the young or still relatively young guys step up and play well. The players like

Jones
Nelson
Finley
RB trio
Hawk
Bishop
Lee
Blackmon
T. Williams
Collins

All those guys i think have some varying degrees of potential to play better/get better. I see those guys being the biggest key as to how much better the team plays this year and being huge in knowing just how talented the roster ends up looking. You also will have a new draft class coming in that we obviously don't know who they are yet.

Had we not lost Jenkins and Harrell (again) and Bigby injured ineffective then out, I suspect we woulda been 9-7 - maybe 10-6. But all that volume low round drafted depth everyone thot we had that I never bought into sucked - so since some injuries are a predictable part of the game we were just what we were a 6-10 team.

Offensively I think we can stack up to just about anyone talent wise. It's all dependant on hitting on defensive players in this draft and our coaching staff. Because of TT's blatant refusal to add players with 3-4 experience via free agency, he's putting all his eggs in one basket, which is not a smart move IMO. One more season like last and he's gone. The silver lining is that no matter what I'm gonna like the results of next season. We either go back to being a playoff team or Teddy's gone. Rejoice. Be merry.
