With the 1st pick...
The Detroit Lions reached an agreement Friday night with Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford to make him the first pick in the NFL draft on Saturday.
Stafford agrees to terms with Lions
According to a source, Stafford will receive a six-year, $72 million deal with $41.7 million guaranteed. The contract could be worth as much as $78 million if Stafford achieves all of his playing incentives. The guaranteed money tops the $41 million in guarantees Albert Haynesworth received from the Washington Redskins earlier this offseason.
Ridiculous amount of money for someone that hasn't done a thing yet.
As for the Pack, I REALLY hope Crabtree falls.

I'm absolutely jacked right now. I love where we're picking and I'll be overly ecstatic with any of Crabtree, Curry, Orakpo, Raji, Jenkins, Andre Smith, or Monroe, and I could even warm up to the idea of Oher and Maybin's potential.
That being said, I probably just sealed the deal that Ted is gonna come outta left field and take Clay Robert Ayers or Clay Matthews #9 overall.

I'm excited. This is crap that it starts late afternoon now and will spill into my Saturday night, though.
Really one of those drafts where there could be alot of movement/trades or setting up of trades.

The guaranteed money at the top of the draft is getting completely out of control.

I really also like where the Packers are picking. There is nobody in this draft that if we pick them, I will walk around depressed. My number list right now in order goes
Raji
Jenkins
Andre Smith
Crabtree
Any one of those and I am thrilled

I really hate having to wait til 3, this sucks. Lots of rumors-Boldin, Quinn, Ocho, etc, should make the first round pretty interesting. Hopefully Sanchez goes ahead of us so we have more talent to choose from.

Or, he could be available and likely give us multiple trade options from teams that want to take him before San Fran can.

But San Fran already has a QB that is better than Rodgers, lol.

T-minus 35 minutes, and I'm about to lose my mind.
Seriously, this is agony. The draft should not start so late.

Only 20 more minutes till the first pick in announced
God I hope the Packers don't land a bust or some average joe.

No kidding. I had no idea it started this late. I work at 5:30 and was like, "cool, I'll at least get to see the 1st round." Now I'm probably going to have to leave right after the Packers' pick.

I just noticed SW has Everette Brown falling to the second round, with the Packers taking him.
I can't imagine him falling that far but it'd be pretty sweet.

10 minutes between picks, we should be up around 4:30 or so.

This is the first draft that I can remember that there isn't one guy that I've felt that we "Gotta Have." It just seems like there isn't a lot of "star" power in this draft.
I'd be ok with trading with Denver if Sanchez falls to us, but what is a good deal for them moving up 4 spots?

I'm also fine with trading down. We will all have our opinions on what happens this weekend but we won't know for sure until 2-3 years down the road. Although if we stay at #9 we better get someone who can contribute this year, regardless of his position.

We need like at least three guys out of this draft that can contribute this year.
Erin Andrews right out of the box

nice.

It sounds like after all the hype of fast risers it could end up being pretty chalk. Stafford, Smith, Curry, Crabtree, in that order.
