Favre to Vikings: It's not over
By Greg A. Bedard of the Journal Sentinel
May. 8, 2009 2:40 p.m.
Green Bay - Now we know why no one was able to confirm the Yahoo! Sports report that Brett Favre told the Minnesota Vikings he was going to stay retired.
Or why neither the Vikings nor Favre was saying anything about the matter.
It might not be over.
ESPN is reporting that Favre has sent his shoulder x-rays to the Vikings for them to look at it. If there is no major damage, the union may proceed.
As always, stay tuned.

What a rollercoaster ride. I guess I should not have expected anything less.

ESPN's Jeremy Schaap is reporting that X-rays of Brett Favre's right shoulder have been sent to the Minnesota VIlikings for evaluation, and if it is determined Favre does not need major surgery he will come out of retirement to play.
After his retirement from the Jets in February, it was revealed Favre had a torn biceps tendon that would require surgery if he were to play again.
Favre reportedly was to meet with Vikings head coach Brad Childress this week, but other reports said Favre called off the meeting because he planned to remain retired.
Schaap added that if Favre is healthy and can not reach a deal with the Vikings, he will explore joining another team.

Unreal, but I hope it happens — the spectacle surrounding both games are going to be circus-like.
And what if they happened to meet in the playoffs? J-E-S-U-S christ.

Even if there is no story, you can bet the media will manufacture one.
So even if it IS over, its not over.

Somethings not right here. They're looking at x-rays for an issue with the tendon? I thought tendons show up on MRIs and x-rays looked at muscles (and things stupid people get stuck up their asses).

If you are one of those people slap yourself.

I never bought yesterday's report for a second. Until Favre comes out and says he's completely retired and will never be a Viking, why would you?

Anyone think that Bus Cook or a good friend works for Yahoo! Sports?
I may hate that douchebag more than Favre. He has designed the blueprint for all of this ****.

I'll keep this open for now but there is a very short leash. First personal attack or anyone crossing the line will get the boot and we'll stop all Favre threads. I know Favre stirs up emotions of all Packer fans but please if you don't have anything to add that you haven't already said then take a deep breath, count to 10 and go see if there is a new Redd sucks thread on the Bucks board.

I don't have my Redd thread going today...

Anyways, I think this pretty much seals the deal that Brett is mentally unstable. I really don't understand why he couldn't just say yesterday he's looking at playing next year if his arm is healed, but that he's unsure until the doctors weigh-in. Instead we get the usual Hee-Haw soap opera.

Should I go make that? Because I'd be willing to do that for this forum.

Hell I won't belive Favre is not coming back until it's week 1 and he is not on the Vikings roster.
I actually hope Favre does play for the Vikings just to make it that much sweeter when the Packers kick their ass.
I respect and appreciate what Favre did as a Packer but if he suits up in a Vikings uniform all bets are off,rip his head off.
Besides I think Favre would look good in Vikings purple it will match the color of his face when he chokes.

Sure, just change "Redd" to "Admirals" and we're good to go.

Well, they're down 3-1 to Houston, so it's kind of the truth.

First, of course it isn't. I doubt anyone really believed it was. As pretty much every talking head has alluded to, it won't be over until the season is, whether it should be or not.
Second...

Here is a question.
If week one passes and Favre is not on a roster, does that officially end "the streak" even if he does catch on with a team later in the season and start every game? If that would end his iron man streak, I think we can safely say we have heard the last of Favre after week one. That record is the most important to him anyway.
