2009 Green Bay Packers & NFL Predictions (Official Edition)
Now that pre-season is over it's time to put it on the line and make our official predictions for the 2009 Green Bay Packers.
Week 1 vs Bears - W
Week 2 vs Bengals - W
Week 3 @Rams - W
Week 4 @Vikings - W
Week 5 Bye
Week 6 vs Lions - W
Week 7 @Browns - W
Week 8 vs Vikings - W
Week 9 @Buccaneers - W
Week 10 vs Cowboys - W
Week 11 vs 49ers - W
Week 12 @Lions - W
Week 13 vs Ravens - L
Week 14 - @Bears - L
Week 15 @Steelers - L
Week 16 vs Seahawks - W
Week 17 @Cardnials - W
And this is how I see the NFC,I actually broke each NFC team down by schedule so im not going by what I think each team is on paper,im going by how good I feel each team is vs their schedule.
Packers 13-3
Vikings 9-7
Bears 8-8
Lions 4-12
Giants 10-6
Cowboys 9-7
Eagles 7-9
Redskins 7-9
Saints 11-5
Panthers 9-7
Falcons 8-8
Bucs 3-13
Cardnials 10-6
49ers 8-8
Seahawks 6-10
Rams 4-12
Playoffs
1.Packers 13-3
2.Saints 11-5
3.Giants 10-6
4.Cardnials 10-6
5.Vikings 9-7
6.Cowboys 9-7
Wild Card
Vikings over Cardnials
Giants over Cowboys
Divisional Week
Packers over Vikings
Saints over Giants
NFC Championship
Saints@Packers
Part of me feels kinda of like a homer picking the Pack to start out 11-0 and finish 13-3 but the combination of the fact the Packers are a good football team along with a not so tough schedule makes me believe 13-3 is very realistic provided we stay healthy.
Those first 11 games I honestly don't see the Packers losing any of them as long as they are healthy and come to play.We really only play 3 games vs two teams in that stretch (Cowboys,Vikings) that could be playoff teams in my opinion and we play 2 of those 3 at Lambeau.
The toughest game for me to pick was the Packers@Vikings game,at first thought I would say the Packers lose in the dome. But something tells me the Packers will be fired up and will do whatever it takes to win that game,I guess I can't see the Packers letting a team beat them that is lead by Favre.I actually had the Packers going 12-4 losing @Vikes and then the Vikes going 10-6 but I changed it two times lol.
I just can't see the Packers losing that game and at the same time I don't see the Vikes as being all that great to be honest with you.

Like the playoff picks. I think the Eagles will make it over Dallas though. Besides that, I like everything else.
I have us at 11-5. I'm not going to predict what we do after that, though. This is as open as I've ever seen the NFC.

Re: 2009 Green Bay Packers & NFL Predictions (Official Edition)
I had the Packers going 11-5 before preseason and they definably made a big impression on all of us.You don't want to put a ton of stock in preseason but the Packers weren't just good in preseason they where the epitome of dominate on both sides of the ball.
The scary thing about that (for Packers opponents) is obviously in preseason the Packers like all teams use their basic & vanilla stuff on offense and defense. Now with the playbooks wide open and real game planning going on lets see how good the Packers can be.
If im the Chicago Bears im not feeling real confident about playing at Lambeau in prime time week 1.

That's what I was thinking, with our defense & weapons on offense along with the not so tough schedule we could start Matt Flynn all 16 games to manage the offense and we still might go 9-7.
You're going to have to explain yourself on that one LukePilska, unless you're predicting major injuries I don't see how the Packers go 9-7 with the schedule they have.

I just don't think the Packers are a good enough team to be 13-3, honestly.
I'm not completely sold on the defense and Rodgers, while he is a superstar in the making, hasn't proven to be able to win close games yet.
I really like our team and our talent, I just see us as 9-7. Even though I hate Favre, I still think the Vikings are the best team in the division.

Re: 2009 Green Bay Packers & NFL Predictions (Official Edition)
Given the fact the defense should actually be able to hold the lead, Rodgers will be on the winning side of plenty of close games. I pray for no defensive meltdowns late in games like last year.
I had us at 10-6 before the pre-season and now I'll say 12-4.

Week 17 @Cardnials - W
I could definitely see us winning at the Vikings though. Have a feeling that will be a classic down to the wire game. At home against Baltimore, at Chicago and Pittsburgh will be a very tough three games. Maybe we'll manage a win at the Bears but I see it being a close loss.

I wasn't sure where to put this, but it's a Hitler parody on Favre. Similar to that Lamar Odom one...

Re: 2009 Green Bay Packers & NFL Predictions (Official Edition)
After seeing this team play, I'm upgrading slightly from my original 10-6 prediction:
Packers 11-5
Vikings 10-6
Bears 9-7
Lions 3-13
Playoffs:
1. Packers (11-5)
2. Saints (11-5)
3. Giants (10-6)
4. Cardinals (10-6)
5. Vikings (10-6)
6. Eagles (9-7)
I'm still can't bring myself to predict 12-4 or 13-3 like some others. I love our team, but I think they're still young, and the end of our schedule is going to be fairly brutal. Unfortunately, I could see us dropping 4 of the last 5. I certainly hope I'm wrong about that, but even so, I predict another NFC North title.

I've never seen a group of people drink the preseason kool-aid as much as the people on this board have. This team would be 9-7 with Matt Flynn at QB? SERIOUSLY?! That is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read.
I think there is a chance we could go 13-3 if everything falls into place, don't get me wrong. I think TT is awesome and has done a great job in assembling the team... I just think being a very young team with a still young QB and an unproven defense (that was terrible last year) still has some major question marks.
I'll stick with my 9-7 prediction... I bet there are a lot better odds that we go 8-8 to 11-5 than us winning 12+ games.

It's not that crazy. Bill Walsh made a career out of taking no name QBs and putting them in a great system with great WRs and had alot of success doing it. I like Rodgers, I think he's awesome, but a QBs success is alot more relative to the players around him than most people realize.

You are right guys.
Aaron Rodgers got this team to 6-10 last year...
Matt Flynn, one of the worst back-up QBs in the NFL, could get them to 9-7 this year. Get real.

I wonder what the excuse will be when we go into the bye week 3-1 or 4-0. "it's only pre-season" won't cut it anymore either.

Why would I make excuses?
Do you think I'm going to be upset if we go 16-0? I will gladly admit that I was wrong. I already said this team has enough talent to go 13-3, there are just still a lot of question marks that cannot be answered in the preseason.
What will your excuse be if we lose to the Bears week 1 and the Vikings before the bye week and we go in 2-2?
