Post game: Week 1

Post#1 » by MadCityBucky » Mon Sep 14, 2009 3:45 am

Barbre sucks, defense is great

Aaron Rodgers with the comeback.

Packers are 1-0 :D

Offense played like *** though, cause for concern. But with some bad teams coming up hopefully they can get back on a rhythm, winning definitely doesn't hurt.

Ugly on offense but a huge win. Good defense calls by Capers.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Loved seeing Rodgers with a comeback win on a big play in game 1.

OL is a major concern on pass blocking.

Horrible playcalling, IMO. Run short slants if you can't run the ball.

Horrible officiating. Almost cost us the game.

Ugly, ugly game, but a win in a division game is a win.

We have two weak opponents coming up so we have some time to get the OLine right.

I think a major factor in this game is Cutler threw the ball to the other team under duress, and Rodgers didn't.

Ugly game, but it was sweet at the end.

Plus, watching it with my roomates, who are all Bears fans, was a nice touch.

I would also like to note that AJ Hawk had a very good game overall and showed up often even to the casual observer.

D was fun to watch. Jenkins and Chillar were unreal tonight.

Whew. A win is a win, but I was nervous the whole game.

Matthews with one tackle, I thought he had more. Good start for him though. Chillar, Jolly and Harris with 8

Barely saw Barnett.

Great win, the type the Packers lost many times last year.

Agreed. Tough to single out defenders but Jolly was tough. Jenkins was a beast. Clay Matthews made a couple nice plays. Chillar was also a playmaker.

Hell, our whole defense played outstanding outside of two mishaps.

I really liked seeing Rodgers buckling down and throwing a perfect strike despite the fact that he had been thrown out of rythm all night long.

I like McCarthy as a head coach and that call against Harris was beyond pathetic, but all the teams under McCarthy have been to penalty prone. We can argue each call if we want, but in the end, excessive amounts of penalties needs to be cleaned up.

That said, i'll take the win given how terrible the offense was

Rodgers did miss a few open guys deep and didn't play his best game, but what i do love about him is that he rarely forces passes into double/triple coverage or makes flat out silly passes like Cutler did tonight. Cutler lost this game as much as we won it.

Agreed. I wasn't trying to say Hawk was our best defensive player. I'm just putting this on the record for those out there who are down on him.

True, but there were also more than a couple drops (on both sides, admittedly).

Bears had 2.8 yards per rush.

Nothing beats listening to Buffone and O'Bradovich on 670am WSCR for their postgame show after a Packer win.

But I'd have to say tonight both guys are pretty mellow. Think the Bears played hard. Almost stole one but didn't. The callers are less calm.

I'm just glad A-Rod got that monkey off his back.
