At what point does this pounding permanently get in Rodgers head? Even though he has one year under his belt, it can't be good to have a still young QB being pounded like this. This poor OL play could do more than lose us games, it could affect Rodgers future.

He had happy feet a lot today and who can blame him? Pretty much knowing that you're going to have to scramble out of the pocket on nearly every pass play does that to a QB.

The line was awful but Rodgers has to make better decisions as well. He played like crap, And I think we all drank the Capers Kool-Aid a little too much. Different scheme but mostly the same players and the same results. Still waiting for Hawk to make a big play. Bush/Rouse tandem was hard to watch.

AR is starting to look a little like a deer in headlights, and that's never good for your QB.

Just a terrible game all around. Ogunleye, Odom...who's next, Chris Long?

Capers needs to teach the defense how to stop a screen. The tackling was reminiscent of the 2008 Packers.

Rivers kind of game up on the 3rd down play. He was under pressure, but he wasn't in immediate danger of being sacked. You can't just spike it in the ground at that point. Wait a little longer and see if a receiver gets open.

3rd down was even dumber. They ran a 3 TE play action roll out where there weren't many routes at all in the open. The Ravens had it blanketed. It just wasn't a very good call.

I guess we should all remember how crazy the NFL can be. The Bears beat the Steelers. The Pats lost today to the Jets and a rookie QB. Arizona was in the freakin Super Bowl last year.

Who the hell knows what things will look like in week 8 or 9.

I'm not excusing the loss because we got flat out whipped in the trenches on both sides of the ball. That said, i think the Bengals are a better and more talented team than most envision when they think of Cinci. They have a talented DL and two high picks both at CB and LB. Their OL isn't garbage, have some good WR's, and watching Benson, he seems to have got better by taking the game more seriously. Yea our front seven got destroyed by their OL, but Benson i thought showed good vision most of the game and he's a big back that allowed him to break tackles. Even with the whipping put on our front seven, Benson surprised me with the skill he showed also. He never looked like that with the Bears.

With all that, anytime a team physically dominated you like that, there has to be major red flags. Great scheme by the Bengals to use six offensive lineman, Capers had no answer because nearly each time the 6 lineman blew our front seven off the ball. Plus, the Bengals play Pittsburgh twice a year and Palmer seemed to sniff out each blitz before the snap, along with their effective run game had them in many 3rd and short situations.

Lastly, the 3rd and 34 pick up was simply inexcusable. It not only lead to 7 points, the Bengals should have been punting from their endzone. Rouse and Bush were stuck to blocks like velcro. To top it off, that TE was an overweight lumbering tub of goo. I still can't believe they picked up that first down. If Rouse and Bush, our dynamic duo of ineptitude are the starting safeties beyond the Browns game, it could get ugly back there.

The lines are bad. But I also think A-Rod would be well served if we got a real running back. Grant is a nice guy and all, and he's able to do some decent things. But I'm not sure what exactly his comparative advantage is as a back. He's got good speed, but not necessarily burner speed. He's not a Jerome Bettis guy who can drag the chains or impose his will inside the ten. He's not a guy like Edgar or Dorsey who got the 7-12 yards on the open hole like Grant, but also were great screen weapons.

A-Rod needs a big upgrade a RB to make his life easier IMO. Grant is just way too limited a RB IMO.

Agreed. Grant runs different than his first year. Almost like he got paid and now he runs like a pansy because of it. 30 carries for 107 yards so far this year and he was below 4 yards per carry last year as well.

I think we really miss Jackson's ability to catch out of the backfield. Grant is horrendous as a receiver.

The offensive line is obviously playing terrible, but if Rodgers would make some plays with his feet he might not have DE's gunning straight up the field for him on every play.

And when I say make some plays with his feet, I don't mean run laterally to avoid the pass rush.

I mean tuck it and run once in a while. If he knocks out a few long scrambles, it pulls the pass rush back to respect it and will in turn allow him more time to throw the football.

Make the defense respect your running abilities and it will be a hell of a lot easier to throw the ball.

Agreed, not having a RB as a receiving option hurts this offense.

This offense needs a Roger Craig. Or something close. It just doesn't work with Grant imo.

And I think we can all remember times under Holmgren when the line was playing poorly, but he'd then go to screens to try and mitigate some of the poor line play. We just don't have that option right now.
