Rouse Cut, Giordano Signed

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... dance-too/Wow. Rouse was brutal on Sunday but it amazes me the chances that Bush gets. I guess they like the fact that he's a 'good' special teams player, even though he was flagged twice for holds on Sunday on punt coverage.
Giordano should be somewhat of an improvement but will he be ready by Sunday? Otherwise our starting safeties are going to be Bush and Martin.

Not keeping Smith continues to become more and more puzzling. That was certainly a poor move on TT's part.

Wow, I didn't expect that. Another victory for the triple fullback attack. Anthony Smith is further demoralized. That said, I think Rouse changes directions as awkwardly as any non-lineman I've ever seen.

And in one of them, he's the Highlander.

I actually like Giordano. I'm surprised he was out there.

I've been a TT supporter but he seems to be outthinking himself with some of these moves he's made with the roster since final cutdown. Three fullbacks, cut Smith who had a solid preseason to keep Rouse, thinking the O-line was worthy of the offensive talent around them and now cutting Rouse who he again kept to cut a guy who actually played well in the preseason. If this team finishes below .500 I really think he's gonna have a hard time keeping his job. Some of this stuff is just unacceptable.

Is it safe to assume Collins will be ready this week.
This moves are perplexing to say the least.

I don't think Collins will be ready. Rouse had a stinger and the speculation is he wouldn't have been ready either so a move had to be made.

Ok, how the safety situation has been handled this year is really very odd.
We keep three FB's and Spencer Havner. Cut Smith. Bigby and Collins go down. We tryout Giordano (no idea), and then we cut Rouse today.
What in the hell is going on here?
Do we really need three FB's or Havner more than we need another safety? And why does Jarrett Bush have nine lives here?
Unreal.

Very surprising move, not a fan of Rouse but with all the hype that McCarthy and TT have heaped on this guy I would've thought they cut Bush. But I have seen Giordano play and I like the pick up. Definitely an improvement over what we had.

Aaron Rouse was the stiffest safety i've ever seen, nor could he stay healthy. Pretty apparent he wasn't going to be ready to play, so they went with giordano. I enjoy Giordana as a pizza, but can't say i can recall him as a player.
TT two years in a row appears to make a major blunder with final cut downs. Who picked up Smith after he was cut?

Same team who picked up Martin and the same team we play this weekend: The Rams. Timing couldn't be more perfect for TT. This could only be more awesome for him if Smith picks off Rodgers first interception of the season on Sunday.

I wanted Rouse cut instead of Smith in the initial cuts. Hopefully this Giordano guy is better than both.

Collins practiced today. So we'll have to wait and hear how that went. I'd like to see Martin next to Collins back there. Let's see what he's got. We're playing the Rams, we can afford to take a chance on this kid. I'm more worried about the offensive line.
Any updates available on Tausch daddy's rehab? He's gotta be close. I hope we've kept in touch.

Listening to the radio after the game sunday they made it seem like Tausch was ready to go according to his dad.

I'd add to the thread, but it's already been said multiple times - why did we cut Smith?
Hope this works out.

Our roster moves in regards to the safety spots have been baffling to say the least. I'm not really upset to see Rouse cut, but how Bush manages to avoid the axe every single time it falls remains a mystery.

Giordano can't be worse than what Rouse has been. He's at least a pretty good special teamer and hopefully won't simply stare into the backfield all game long.

That's the first I've heard that. Everywhere else I've heard him talked about it's been stated he's not ready.
