Alright, get set for one of the biggest regular season games in NFL History. I was still upset regarding today's events until I saw this poll on the JS site:

Brent Favre is starting a game against the Packers! For the Vikings!!

Go Green & Gold.

I'm already anxious to get this game going. The next seven days are going to be unbearable.

Hopefully Jackson is ready to go this week.

I know this is captain obvious speaking, but pass protection by our line and keeping Peterson from having a huge game will decide who wins.

The crowd in the baggy will be at a major fever pitch, our offensive line simply can't fall apart via getting Rodgers hit all day and/or a bunch of false starts.

As for Peterson, if we can keep him in the 100-120 yard range, i'll live with that. If though he's gashing us for a bunch of long runs, Capers won't be able to dial up his blitz packages and it could get ugly.

A loss and were are 2-2 with the Queens 4-0, not good.

Either way though, it's games like this why i'm so glad i love sports. A big time event to look forward to and it'll be free of charge on my beautiful HD plasma picture.

I think yesterday's Viking win was very helpful for us. Those guys will spend the next few days partying over that one. They won't focus as hard on the Packers game until maybe Wednesday.

And most importantly, it will tell Brent that he's "back" and he'll completely forget all the possible picks he threw where the 49'er d-backs dropped the ball. Woodson and Harris won't drop those throws.

Plus as we all know, Brent plays horribly in really, really big games when there is a ton of pressure riding on him.

I have a bad feeling about this game. I agree with El Dude completely and said so yesterday, the two keys are slowing AD and protecting Rodgers, and I have little faith in the Packers to do either right now.

The playcalling also has to improve this game. We need to pass more on first down, especially when running against their DL is likely going to prove to be futile.

Control AP, win the game. Easier said than done though.

If Bevell is smart, it will be AP left, AP right, AP up the middle, with short controled passes by Brent. I don't think we win if they do this. What I'm counting on is Brent wanting to make big plays and calling a lot of audibles. That's how we win this game.

Brent would rather have big numbers and lose than bad numbers and win.

Do you honestly believe that? I have a feeling he wants to beat the packers more than anything.
Do we have any chance at slowing down AP? I dont think hes had a bad game vs us in his career besides the one where he got injured.

Yep. The playcalling needs to get better. We need to win, or at least be competitive at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. We can't afford any more drops. The tackling was a bit better yesterday but will need to improve substantially against AP. Finally, we need to start fast to take the crowd out of it a bit, make them think about throwing it a bit more, and allow Capers to mess with brent's head.

The bright side, for me, is that the things the Packers are doing poorly are correctable, ie the playcalling, tackling, and drops - and better playcalling would help the offensive line while better tackling would get us to more 3rd and long situations where we can get after the QB. I just made it sound a lot simpler than it really is, but I'm just saying that the Packers have maybe played their "C" game at best so far against the Bears and have played at about a "D" level the past two weeks. We're capable of much more.

I don't believe that but I do believe he'll force the issue with some passes, more than he should, because he does want to stick it to us.

I believe it. If the Queens win and Brent goes 10-30 with 2 picks they will have won because of AP and/or defense. And the story will be about how bad he played. If he goes 25-30 for 350 yards and 2 TD's and they lose, the story will be about how great Brent still is and the defense let them down.

And we all know it's all about Brent, not about his team.

Certainly he wants to beat the Pack but he wants big numbers more.

I agree with all of this. No way Brent will be satisfied just dumping the ball off all day, especially after his game winning throw against San Fran. He wants to light us up for 300+ yds and 3+ tds.

As long as we win, i dont care what he puts up. I think it'll actually be better if he puts up big numbers and AP is shutdown (not happening)

I guess McCarthy mentions that if Clifton can practice this week he has a shot to play Monday..

Not sure how much I believe that but somewhat encouraging.

I think Clifton is a smokescreen, I doubt he will play. Give him another week plus the bye week and get him back 100%. Bigby is also suppose to be back after the bye. Then we can end the Chillar at safety experiment.

I am predicting a loss. 35-17 Vikings in a rather convincing win.

Adrian Peterson is just going to be too much for us... Steven Jackson ran all over us this week and his offensive line is bad. AP is basically the better version of Jackson with a superior offensive line. Favre has proven that he is not worthless and thus if we commit too much to the run, he can still burn us. The Vikings are just a superior team right now, though that could change by the end of the season as the NFL is a crazy, crazy place.

Nothing in the world would make me happier than a Woodson pick 6 while Matthews lays out #4. Control the ball with our short passing game please. Get a lead and make Brent play from behind, we need to be in the backfield all day. Either to pressure him or to try and slow down AP before he gets going downhill, keep him out of our secondary. Hoping to see more Raji and Bishop this week.

I'd play some 4-4 and mess with Brent's head. Keep 4 LBs but add Raji as a second DT and take a safety out. Try and clog up AP's running lanes. Our corners>their wr

They know how bad our guys want to lay out Brent, I can see a lot of screen passes and draw plays coming.
