I figured I'd start a Wisconsin @ Minnesota thread, since I'm a Madison native that graduated from Minnesota. I follow both teams more than any other college football programs. Really excited for this game. I think it's going to be extremely close and come down to the last possession.

Wisconsin seems to have found a good QB and they have a deadly running game. Minnesota has started to get their running game going and Decker has lived up to his preseason All-America honors.

Last I checked, the spread was in favor of the Gophs by 3 points. Minnesota hasn't won the axe since 2004 I believe. That blocked punt from a few years ago still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Minnesota rushed for around 400 yards if I remember correctly.

So who wins the Axe this year?

32 receptions for 410 yards. 10/10 passing for 109 yards. 5 rushing attempts for 94 yards. 13 total offensive touchdowns.

3 INTs, 1 sack and 2 forced fumbles. 2 total defensive touchdowns.

1 kick return for 99 yards. 1 special teams touchdown.

1/1 on field goal attempts. 16/16 on extra points.

Heading up early Friday. Don't have tickets yet, hoping to land some up there.

Minnesota is due to win one, since UW has owned them the last 15 years, winning 12 of 15 as well as the last five. I'm suspecting their players and fans will be pretty jacked up for this one.

That said, I hope we beat the living hell out of the Goofs once again. Either way I won't be sober.

UW certainly has the talent to win, but I don't necessarily expect them to. Minnesota is going to be jacked to finally take the axe back, and not let their rival come in and get the first B10/Rival win at the new stadium.

I'd be surprised if it's a blowout in either direction.

That's it? You can pencil him in for at least 200 for sure and Borland for another 75 imo.

I'm more confident in Badgers winning than Packers winning.

Like I said, I am a Madison native but graduated from Minnesota. I hate the Queens and am a die hard Packer and Bucks fan. Gotta be true to your school though, so that's why I'm a Gopher fan.

I wish we would play at least one road non conference game. I hate starting with 4 in a row at home. At least it's not in the dumpy dome.

Some good news for Badger fans is that one of our starting DEs has been suspended 2 games. Not sure for what, just said violation of team rules. He's one of our better D linemen so it could be pretty significant.

I don't care if Wisconsin's running game has got off to a slow start this year. Clay scares the **** out of me. Last year I loved when PJ Hill was stealing carries from Clay.

Plus, compared to Minnesota's running game, Wisconsin's is extremely deadly. You guys actually good backs, we're still looking for someone to step up out of our 3 guys.

The running game didn't look good the first 3 games, but picked up against MSU. Tolzien is probably the best QB we've had since Stocco.

Just ran across this, figured I'd put it on here. Kind of amusing. I guess they are starting to play this song at TCF...so if any of you are going to the game you may hear it.

Some local rapper has come up with a Gopher Football song. I think Brewster is probably behind it because it seems like a recruiting tool with him speaking at the beginning. I'm surprised someone like Pete Carroll hasn't had a big name rapper write a USC Football song to use during recruiting.

Pete Carroll is the coach that all other coach's follow when it comes to recruiting. He is always the first to implement a new gimmick. He was the first to have a professionally made recruiting website, facebook page, twitter, etc.

The bottom line in recruiting is selling the program and selling the coaching staff. Websites, Twitter, etc.. are just extra tools to do that selling. Players go to USC because they want to compete for a national championship and they want a shot at the NFL. If a rap song convinces someone to go to a particular school then I'm not sure that's the kind of player you'll win with anyway.

Haha, alright I guess I agree. It just seems like Pete Carroll would have already done something like this. I mean he has Will Ferrell come to practice and basically perform sketch comedy. He has Snoop Dogg come to practice and stand on the side lines.
