I don't have a ton of interest in Merriman or Johnson...
I think it would be awesome to get Dorsey though.

Re: Around the League: Week 6
I'm moving this over from the week 5 thread. I think people overlooked it because the week was over, but I think it could be a good discussion.
I think it's a bit of an overreaction, but I don't think it's too big of a stretch. I might just be buying in because it's so exciting to watch and has had some success to this point, but I think that we could be witnessing more than just a short-lived fad. There's of course the "defenses are going to figure it out and it will go by the wayside" factor, but I'm not sure that it DOES move it to the wayside. Or that defenses will render it useless.
I have long said that Tebow's future in the NFL should be at fullback. I've felt that because of the versatility he would be able to bring, and the uniqueness he'd be able to instill into an offense (in addition to the fact that he would just not cut it as a pro-style QB). He very well could be able to change the way you view the FB outside of blocking, and it'd be like having Mike Alstott with the added bonus of past experience as a QB and the ability to pass. But I'm starting to rethink my position on Tebow because of the Wildcat. All of the things he would bring to an offense at FB, he'd be able to bring to an offense as a Wildcat QB or RB. He could be used in either role and I think he could see some success. Passing out of the Wildcat I believe it what would make it a weapon with staying power, and while he's not a great passer, he could succeed with it out of the Wildcat. And unlike Pat White, who is more of a scrambling-type runner, Tebow is a square-your-shoulder-pads-and-knock-you-on-your-ass (that was hard to type), between the tackles type runner. He runs like a power RB or FB. That could prove valuable to the versatility.

I wonder if the Chiefs would do Dorsey for Kampman... That would be awesome...
Jenkins/Dorsey/Raji/Jolly/Pickett... That would be a beastly rotation on the DL.

This was the first time I watched the Fins this season and what struck me most was that their offense didn't look anything like the Wildcat that they used last season.
In 2008 they basically ran three plays from the WC. On Monday they were running a massively diverse set of plays. They had formations with four RBs, no QBs or WRs. Of course on that final drive they used three different players behind the center. I loved the double reverses. Hell, as a fan it's often tough to figure out who has the ball.
I just love the idea that this coordinator decided to think so far outside the box and came up with plays that no one had ever seen before.

They run a 3-4 defense also, where Kampman is a bad fit

I think it's a 3 (that could become a 2) and a 5. The Jets have to be loving the Browns - they've given them Sanchez and Edwards.

I'm not a Edwards (AKA Stone Hands) fan. He has a ton of talent. Kind of a wait and see trade for me, because who knows if Edwards will produce in NY or not.
Right now I would rather be on Cleveland's side of the deal though.

Not to mention that Dorsey is more of a Cover 2 tackle, not a 3-4 end and definitely not a nose. Bad fit or not, Kampman is hands down a better player than Merriman, who's post-steroid performance has to raise questions about how good he ever was.

Re: Around the League: Week 6
Kampman is a complete non-factor for the Packers right now. I'd gamble on Merriman bouncing back or a young guy like Dorsey rounding out than hoping we can get a 3rd after franchising Kampman this offseason.

I would hope we can get more than a 3rd for Kampman. I just feel like we can get better talent/better fits than those two in exchange for him.

If Edwards pans out like hoped, they still only give up a 2nd rounder for a WR that is legit #1 talent. A lot of Edwards problems in Cleveland were QB related, yes he has had drop issues, but the only year Anderson was good Edwards was a beast. My guess-he tears it up for Jets.

Re: Around the League: Week 6
Article on SI.com had this to say
I was super impressed with Collins at Kansas and was on the list of guys at OT was hoping the Pack could land. I never understood how he lasted as long as he did in the draft.
If the Packers could get him for Kampman I'd be thrilled.
• Bengals T Anthony Collins for Packers DE Aaron Kampman
Talk about a trade that makes sense. This would solve some severe issues on both sides of the deal.
The popular Packers end, Kampman, is miscast in Dom Capers' 3-4 defense. When he played end in a 4-3 -- which the Bengals play -- Kampman was a Pro Bowl player who racked up huge sack numbers. Since switching to linebacker in the 3-4, he has just one sack.
Meanwhile, the Bengals obviously find themselves in a unique position of being able to make a big run. They need help on the defensive line, pressuring the quarterback, and Kampman would bring great professionalism and class to the club. It could be a big-time, fate-changing type move for the Bengals.
As for the Packers, they are having big issues protecting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He simply does not have the time to get the ball to game-breaking receiver Greg Jennings, who has just 11 catches.
Jennings normally is not one to bark and howl like a T.O. or Chad Ochocinco, but said this week, "When I'm in the meeting and I'm looking at myself running wide open and I'm not getting the opportunity, yes, I am [mad]."
Collins would be a loss to the Bengals' line, but just how big of one? The Bengals already were showing a preference to versatile second-year lineman Dennis Roland, rotating him with Collins. Also, underachieving first-round draft pick Andre Smith is improving rapidly from the broken foot that sidelined him and apparently Bengals coaches are getting favorable reports on his conditioning.

I really haven't paid any attention to him since he left Kansas, though. Did anyone get a read on how he looked when we played them? Wasn't a thought in my mind to pay attention. Just curious to know how he's looked in the pros.
This is definitely something I would look into, though, if he's looked like a good player. IIRC he was an AA and an Outland finalist. He's also young, so if it works out we could have him for awhile.

Brady Quinn another 'name' that is being mentioned on the market.
Terrell Owens to Chicago is being talked about heavy in Chitown as well.
I doubt anything happens.
