Early Look at 2010 Schedule
Was looking at our schedule for next year. As of right now, we are looking at:
Home Games
Vikings
Bears
Lions
Giants
Cowboys
Dolphins
Bills
2nd Place team in NFC West = Niners as of today
Road Games
Vikings
Bears
Lions
Eagles
Redskins
Patriots
Jets
2nd Place team in NFC South = Falcons as of today
A lot changes year to year in the NFL, but as of right now that road schedule is looking pretty tough.

Re: Early Look at 2010 Schedule
That is a brutal schedule on the road, but as said things change year to year. No real desirable road trips on that slate either. I don't think I would go to Philly or New York as an opposing fan, I hate Philly fan. DC would be a cool trip I suppose. Atlanta, eh.... Boston (NE) would be okay I guess, but I hate Boston fan too. I went to Detroit this year and would go back. I heard Viking fans are brutal and its not like Minneapolis is a road trip, same with Chicago. I don't know how Bears fans would be, I'd suspect hostile.

Re: Early Look at 2010 Schedule
How is that a brutal road schedule? The Vikings, Eagles and Patriots are tough games, but right now, I wouldn't consider anything else on the road schedule to be brutal. Chicago is 5-7, Detriot is 2-10, Washington is 3-9 and the Jets are 6-6, so is Atlanta.
And Boston fans do suck, but the city is awesome.

Re: Early Look at 2010 Schedule
I agree it's just too hard to say right now. Who would have thought looking at this year's schedule that Pittsburgh might be a winnable game.

One of those teams could easily draft Nick Toon and so you can automatically mark that down as a loss... And probably losses for the rest of the reason after that game since he will probably injure our entire defense.

Re: Early Look at 2010 Schedule
On the bright side Minnesota would have this schedule.
Home: Green Bay, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, New York Giants, Buffalo, Miami, Arizona
Away: Green Bay, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington, New England, New York Jets, New Orleans

Obviously early but that seems like a pretty tough road schedule.

That was my thought as well.
Obviously a lot changes in the NFL from year to year, but they play 4 road playoff teams and another in Atlanta that could have made it if they had less significant injuries.

Re: Early Look at 2010 Schedule
They were talking about this on WSSP today. Tough schedule. Hopefully we'll have some good rookies and we'll be able to rise to the challenge...

Sometimes though when you play certain teams on the schedule is incredibly important
Look at us and the Queens. We played them in the dome early on before the guys on defense were very familiar with the scheme, Babre was a human statue at RT, Colledge was playing LT miserably, and Martin was filling in at safety like he's never stepped on a field before. It also can help to play top teams very late in the year if they are resting starters.

Re: Early Look at 2010 Schedule
That schedule looks brutal, but we'll see how the cards fall in terms of when we actually play them. For instance, a lot of us thought the back half of this years schedule was rough, but we came together at the right time, and played our best football over that stretch.

Re: Early Look at 2010 Schedule
The difference between us and the Queens is we have San Francisco and Atlanta, they have Arizona and New Orleans.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Early Look at 2010 Schedule
The teams are tough, but a lot of it will depend on how it is made out. Hopefully we'll have some easy games scheduled around some tough games and not something like @ Philly, @ NE, Dallas, @ MN.
