Semi-OT: 1250 WSSP's 'Tuesdays with Ted'

Has anyone else has heard this little bit of "comedy" that is on during Doug & Mike in the Morning every Tuesday?

I tried to find a link on the page that they claimed would be there, but couldn't.

This has to be the most unfunny, unoriginal waste-of-time segment that WSSP airs. It is a one joke act that goes on for way to long and that one joke isn't even funny. I would imagine that it is hard to fill time in radio, but still, I mean, I can't imagine that even one person has been entertained by this. Has anyone else heard this?

A bit of explanation for anyone who hasn't... this "comedy" segment revolves around a fake Ted Thompson talking "like" Ted Thompson saying nonsensical things. It seems to go on for ever but is probably actually only on for 2 or 3 minutes. It isn't even so bad that it's funny, it is just bad, really, really bad...

Ted Thompson is awesome, I don't know why anyone would want to make fun of him.

If Brent doesn't win the title, those people who think he's a complete idiot are going to eat their own **** as he looks to have just opened up a 5+ year window for us with his young core as seen by our "which young player" thread.

The only scary thing is the uncapped period of time. The NFL would be seriously stupid to do it. There is so much interest drawn to every game because of the parity. If they uncap it, it will probably end up being the title of who is healthiest out of Dallas, 'Skins, Jets, Giants, Pats, and probably Bears every year that wins the title. I guess the NFC East would be competitive. Sweet.

The best Packers spoof was the old "All My Packers" on Bob & Brians show. This was in the pre Holmgren days when the team sucked and players were getting arrested all the time. It was gold.

I remember listening to the "best of" CD of this with my cousin when I was young.

Great scenes were Randy Wright getting pulled over trying to get out of the ticket pretending to be Majkowski.
Officer: How do you spell that sir?
Wright: M-a-j....Kowski

Brent Fullwood would always just say: "It just slipped outta my hands coach"

And Infante always spoke in the "stupid" or Bullwinkle style voice.

Maybe you can verify this if it's true, but I'm pretty sure I remember hearing or reading something about a Packer (in the 80's) getting pulled over by the cops and he showed the cop a trading card of himself because he didn't have his drivers license on him.

:D

The good thing is we've developed through the draft pretty efficiently. The teams that spend the most in FA usually pay the consequences the following season and then some. Of course, more people will end up going to free agency because they'll want to be out in the open market..but let's cross that bridge when we come to it.

Ugh.

Guys, an uncapped year has built in provisions to prevent the big money teams from going crazy in free agency. If anything it helps teams retain their young players and rewards organizations that use the draft to build their rosters.

We WANT an uncapped league so long as these current rules are in place.

Fair enough, I haven't studied it enough.

What are these rules?

Drugbust is right. Here are two articles that kind of explain it. The second one kind of shows what kind of garbage will probably actually hit free agency in an uncapped 2010.
