Green Bay Packers
Record: 9-4
C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson
In this scenario, Spiller slides down the board and Green Bay wins the lottery. Spiller would add a big-play element to the running game, and his ability to motion out into the slot makes him an excellent fit for the Packers' pass-heavy scheme.

This team + game-breaking RB = Dominant.

Re: McShay mock draft 1.0: C.J. Spiller
I like Spiller. He'd be able to be a weapon for us in the return game, and also catching the ball out of the backfield or lined up in the slot. I do not believe that he is CJ (Chris Johnson, that is) rushing the ball. Don't think he'll ever challenge for the rushing record. I think leading up to the draft there will be lots of "Chris Johnson or Reggie Bush?" types of discussions. I think he can wind up in between them as rushers. But what he can bring in other dimensions is what is so valuable and attractive about him. I think we'd just have to have another back on the roster that's more of the bruising type. Grant's not perfect by any stretch but he might make a decent enough compliment for Spiller...if he'd only accept that role.

Spiller or Haden would be the only two skill position guys I'd want in the first round next year. Maybe Thomas gets added to that list down the line but I haven't watched him specifically that much.

Not that we could get him but...Berry?

I don't see Spiller making it to where we will end up picking

Re: McShay mock draft 1.0: C.J. Spiller
Anyone you guys would trade up for? I heard that the OT prospects aren't that great.
Would you guys try to move from being a very good defense to an absolutely dominant one by moving up and grabbing Suh or Berry?
Jenkins/Suh/Raji on the D-line seems like it would be ridiculous... Same as Berry/Collins does at the safety spots in the 3-4.

Suh could end up being the first pick in the draft, top three at worst. Berry will go very high also, we don't have the ammo to move up that far from where we'll be picking.

I would lose my mind if the Packers somehow got Spiller....he is much closer to Johnson than Bush because he will run inside...my guess is that he is gone and GB will snake a quality d-back.

Hopefully the move to get Matthews will make TT looking for a repeat performance.

Re: McShay mock draft 1.0: C.J. Spiller
Berry has been my dream since the start of last season... that was my one consolation if we were to suck this year because it'd give us a better chance to nab him, Spiller though would definitely provide a element to our team that we lack

Unless a great OT or RB falls to us I see TT trading back and getting some extra picks.

I think if one of the top DBs fall we would take him.

This is a deep class of defensive linemen. With Jolly's impending legal situation and Pickett's free agency I think that's going to be near the top of the list in April.
