Finley missed the Dallas game and played the last 7 games of the year.

The receptions totals for those last 7 games have been 38 for Finley, 30 for GJ, and 29 for DD. Finley has the most TDs during that stretch with 4, and he led us in receptions in 4 of those 7 games as well. Finley coming back from injury and stepping up was a huge part of the reason we went 6-1 in those 7 games.

Even though we spread the ball around a lot, Finley might already be our best target because he's a huge mismatch with his size and athleticism and he has excellent hands. That is saying a lot with a team that has receivers like we have.

How good can the kid be? My vote is "sick wicked nasty" but other may disagree.

He has the talent to be the best tight end in football. Not sure if it will happen though, but I think the odds are high that he will be top 5.

So is that a sick wicked nasty vote?

He's also only 22 and only played two years of college ball. Its pretty incredible how good he already is.

Finley is my favorite Packer at the moment, but I've always been partial to tight ends because that was my position back in the day. Matthews is up there too of course.

I loved how he caught the touchdown yesterday, and then he just looked at the defender on the ground. It was kind of like a "why even try to stop me" look. Awesome! We need that type of intimidation. I'd say he is on par with Percy Harvin as far as being a "Special Weapon" in the division. He has skills that most TEs just don't have...

I was just as impressed with Aaron on that one. That's a tough ball to throw.

Finley is freakin' awesome, though. The leap he's made in one season is totally remarkable.

I guess you are right, it wasn't a typical fade, although, generally, those are considered easy balls to throw for QBs. I remember being impressed with the ball placement. Still, just like the ball he got in the Ravens game, you just move everyone aside, no DB is stopping Finley 1-on-1 in the endzone...

I really don't like Havner out there, because I just don't see him having a future with this team. That said, he has made some pretty athletic and impressive plays this season, and he has forced me to reconsider my thoughts on him...

Why not? He's good on special teams, and has proven he can make plays on offense when they go with a 3 TE set. There's definitely value to a guy like that. Hell, Bush was kept because he was good on special teams, and he sucks at his position. Havner isn't a great TE, but he's good enough to warrant a roster spot when you combine in his special teams ability.

I said I came around to him, it just took me a while. I like him now, and I like the flexibility he provides us. That said, I think that TT values that flexibility a little to highly, just because a guy can play two positions doesn't mean he should...

The day they drafted Finley I told my Dad after the draft I thought that he would be a top 5 tight end within 5 years or so. After seeing him really grow into the position this year after a semi disappointing rookie campaign I think he could easily be the best TE in the league in the very near future.

I think him and Vernon Davis are far and away the best up and coming tight ends and I don't see anyone even close to them right now.

The guy is a stud and a player, it also seems he has improved his work ethic this year so if he can maintain that we have a very special player on our hands.

I remember that before the draft, they talked about the Packers interest in Finley. How can you forget that name, especially in Wisconsin!

Definitely has the talent to be the best TE in the league.

I loved that taunt down he done catching the ball over that Cards player last week hahaha that was priceless. The way he was standing was just just like "you got no chance, dont even bother"

He has Antonio Gates level potential, and honestly, he could be even better. His combination of size, speed, hands, and leaping ability is just unreal for a TE. Throw in his improving blocking, and he's got perennial Pro Bowler written all over him.

So yeah, count that as a vote for "sick wicked nasty."
