DROY - Cushing wins, Matthews 3rd

Byrd 2nd.

Understandable. Cushing did have a nice year.

That said, there isn't a defensive player in this class I'd rather have than Matthews. Had he played the entire season I think he would have been a lock for the Pro Bowl and could have garnered some DPOY consideration. He's as special an OLB as there is.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, DB.

Clay Matthews > Jared Allen and next year he'll be able to prove it by playing the entire season.

Hard to argue with the vote. Clay didn't play much the first 1/4 of the season. But this kid is going to be a FORCE for years to come. I'm glad we have a DC that knows how to use him.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Did he play or practice at all in training camp? He had an incredible year when you consider he started one year in college then missed basically the entire preseason.

All accolades aside, I'd rather have Matthews...

+1

I could see Matthews racking up 12-15 sacks a year for the next decade (if he stays relatively healthy).

Same. Not surprised to see that he didn't get it. He still has a decent shot at the pro bowl, though, as a first-alternate.

Cushing deserved the award.

Matthews is a better fit for our team.
