There's no secret that we sorely lack safety depth. There's probably no question that some team will offer him a starting job. He wasn't that great last year, but he wasn't bad either. And that was coming off a very good 2008 season that he had.

Still, should we at least try to send out a feeler to him if he is released? I'd be all for it.

I'd be fine sending out a feeler, but I am always skeptical of guys who come into the league as corners and, while still young, end up having to move to safety. It almost feels like the Cards didn't think he had the skill-set to play to position. He intrigues me, but whatever feeler we send out won't be enough to bring him in, particularly with someone like TT at the helm, who'd rather just draft someone to play the position. Also, the article mentions that Arizona plans on bringing him back and he wants to be there. I'd put the odds at less than 0.000000001% that we do anything...

He plays the same position as Nick Collins. What we need is a starting strong safety who can stay healthy.

Agreed with Wade. He would just be a redundancy.

I would bring him in if he still has corner skills. But the Cards moving him to FS tells me that he doesn't, so I would have to say pass.
