Is it a good thing that halladay is pitching a complete game

almost every start
todays pitch count was 126

i know he's not aj but pitch count is important
we don't know of future shoulder problems

and putting him out there can tire his arm

We're not making the post season, let him pitch as much as he can, in a month, he'll be on a long vacation where he'll get ENOUGH rest.

OT: Can someone tell me about Doc's contract. How many years and how much left? I want to know when we're going to have to sign him. Zito got 18 mil, Doc >> Zito.

give the bullpen work the ones that don't get time
frasor, towers, wolfe as much as they suck...they need work

The more innings means his ERA might go down. Gibby's probably trying to get Doc to contend for Cy Young?

Well, Halladay hasn't had arm trouble in the past two years. It was widely speculated that the "tired shoulder" of last season was simply to ensure his leg was ready. He's a workhorse, and while he's not going to get a Cy this year (his recent winless streak solidified it, though it brought down his ERA), we might as well let him have a shot at leading the league in a category to remind everyone that he's still a beast.

He, like Wells, AJ and BJ, is guaranteed until 2010 and I believe he is making around $10-12mil per season. Yes, we got a fantastic deal when we extended him.
