Texans Week 4 vs Seattle Seahawks - 9/29 NOON!

Another tough game, but an opportunity to show the league they belong at the top.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1783669-seattle-seahawks-vs-houston-texans-preview-and-predictions

When the 2013 NFL schedule came out, a lot of folks may have picked this one as an early Super Bowl preview.

The Seahawks look like the force we all thought they'd be at 3-0 after mowing through their past two opponents after a close Week 1 win.

The Texans were shocked in Week 3 by the Baltimore Ravens but will look to rebound at home against Seattle.

I'd just like to take a moment to needle everybody who watched the Texans lose instead of lighting their rectums on fire at the hot sauce festival.

Yet another lose. Seahawks are better in every way then the Ravens and their d is going to terrorize schaub. The Texans will not be able to run the ball and Schaub will be on his back more then a two hooker. If Brown misses this game Schaub will leave game on the stretcher. Special teams is not special. The defense was better last week then it had been all season but nobody is really pressuring the QB. Okung is out for several weeks so put Watt over his replacement and give the Texans's fan something to cheer about. This going to be ugly.

Tired of Kub trying this balance at with his offense in every level. Guy needs to back off. If Foster moving the ball then let him be the work horse if Tate is moving it the let him run. Tired of this splitting playing time down the middle. If the team is hot passing it then stop this 50-50 bs.

Fire the special teams coach!

Mark my words Foster will not be on this team next season hopefully Kub and Schaub are gone but god no to Wade replacing him. Wade is not a head coach.

Texans are not a Superbowl team and as it seems they will not even win their division. Maybe they can be a wild card team but I would rather they lose the rest of their game to get a number 1 pick then be one and done

10 Texans thoughts:

First on the Seattle game -

1. Being in Houston will help
2. While Seattle's D is awesome, I do think Houston matches up a little better than with Baltimore considering the D should be able to stick with Seattle's offense better
3. Houston's offense (Schaub) needs to right the ship right now
4. Only chance Houston has of winning is if it can generate the offense and get some turnovers. I heard the Texans only have 1 interception (Cushing) all season.. I think that's true
5. Likely to be 2-2 after the game, but could (should) be 0-4

Second on some overall Texans stuff -

1. This team looks more and more like a 9-7 team
2. Schaub is slipping down the ranks as guys like Locker, Tannehill, Dalton move up. He's probably bottom half now. I'm ready for a new QB
3. I'm okay with Kubiak, but the Texans look really predictable right now. They have no punch
4. I'm worried about Andre's health
5. I'm already thinking about the next draft: QB, another WR and O-Line, DBs

Andre Johnson injury: Texans WR scheduled for MRI

http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/9/23/4761406/andre-johnson-injury-texans-mri

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson is going to have an MRI to see what the damage is to his injured shin, according to the team's official website.

Johnson left the Texans' 30-9 loss early against the Baltimore Ravens after suffering a bone bruise in the first half. The former Miami Hurricanes star made an attempt to play in the third quarter, but ultimately had to shut it down for the day. When he left, Johnson had five catches for 36 yards.

Right now, things are unclear as to whether Johnson can play next Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks at home. Following the MRI, Houston is hoping to have a better idea of exactly how severe the bruise is. Johnson is also hoping for clarity:

"I don't know," Johnson said. "I don't know what's going to happen with it. Right now, I plan on playing. I have an MRI set up in the morning."

This was the second consecutive game Johnson has had to exit prematurely because of injury. In Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans, Johnson departed with a concussion following an illegal hit by safety Bernard Pollard.

Love Andre and I hope he gets a lucky streak going soon.

As of 9/23/13

http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/sort/quarterbackRating

Quarterback rankings sorted by rating

1. Manning 131.0
2. Rivers 116.2
3. Wilson 109.6
4. Rodgers 105.1
5. Romo 103.9
6. Ryan 100.4
7. Stafford 99.9
8. Vick 96.0
9. Tannehill 94.3
10. Cutler 94.2
11. Dalton 93.2
12. Luck 92.7
13. Smith 92.1
14. Newton 91.9
15. Brees 91.4
16. Locker 89.8
17. Bradford 88.7

18. Schaub 87.3

19. Manuel 86.5
20. Griffin 84.1
21. Roethlisberger 81.2
22. Flacco 80.0
23. Brady 79.4
24. Pryor 73.1
25. Kaepernick 72.5
26. Palmer 72.3
27. Manning 70.5
28. Henne 68.8
29. Hoyer 68.5
30. Ponder 65.9
31. Smith 65.0
32. Weeden 62.0
33. Freeman 59.3

Now there is nobody above Schaub I'd take him over and a bunch of guys below him I'd rather have. I also think a few of the guys below him finish above him, which puts him in the 20s range when the season winds down.

For reference, Schaub finished last season with a 90.7 rating, making him 9th overall.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/playe ... /year/2012

He is trending the wrong direction (lower rating, lower overall) and it's going to cost the Texans this season.

Matt has always been a middle of the pack QB. And the Seahawks Offense is better then the Ravens. This will be bad. I really don't care much about Andre he's old and I rather see what our young core of WRs can do. Sooner or later we are going to have to move away from Andre

I know this is the perception, but it's not really true. And this isn't to say quarterback rating is the ultimate judge, but it's a pretty good indicator.

Schaub quarterback rating since arriving in Houston

2007 - 87.2, 13th overall
2008 - 92.7, 7th overall
2009 - 98.6, 7th overall
2010 - 92.0, 9th overall
2011 - 96.8, 6th overall
2012 - 90.7, 9th overall

2013 - 87.3, 18th overall (3 games)

Schaub has taken a dramatic downturn. Perhaps he improves over the course of the season, but as it looks now, he's having the worst season of his career and is likely done as a starter in the NFL.

His qbr May been great and threw for a lot of yards but he and the offense had always had troubles scoring. Finishing a drive and rarely rely on on him to win a game. Schaub is a middle of the road QB a second tier QB.

We're going up against the best secondary in the league....Schaub better step up....i really want Schaub and Kubiak gone, but McNair has been sleeping with both, so i guess we will see these two for a while...maybe if Schaub screws up, we can see Keenum....not too fond of TJ either.

Lol. Keemun is a far worse option then Schaub. He is far off from being a starter in the NFL and IMO will never be good enough to be one

It's my understanding that this is Schaub's season. If he gets it done then great, but if not, the Texans will be in the market for a new QB.

Schaub faces Seattle and San Francisco next and will likely be exposed more and more, especially with Andre hurting. It looks over for him.

Bring on Johnny Football. I can only imagine the hype.

lol...too early to judge on keenum as far as a long term starter, but one thing for sure, he is better than schaub...even TJ is better...schaub has no arm and no mobility. the dude is a failure in the red zone too though part of the blame should go with kubiak's play calling too....two pick 6 already isn't helping him this year.

This morning they were discussing a Bill Simmons idea of trading Schaub/1st for Ben Roethlisberger.. which the radio liked. Personally I don't. Roethlisberger is good and would be an upgrade but I'd rather spend the 1st on a new player and draft a QB.

I struggle to believe Schaub will rise to the challenge presented by Seattle and expect more interceptions. He's currently on pace to throw the most picks in his career.

The latest on Andre Johnson, Duane Brown

http://www.houstontexans.com/news/article-2/The-latest-on-Andre-Johnson-Duane-Brown/837e37fe-8c39-4e22-8d8f-629f855f1bce

Andre Johnson is day-to-day with a shin bruise he suffered in Sunday’s 30-9 loss at Baltimore. Johnson left in the third quarter after being kicked in the shin earlier in the game. He did not return.

“Andre is doing better today,” head coach Gary Kubiak said Monday. “He has a shin bruise. As a matter of a fact, I just walked by him in there. He’s going to be day-to-day, but he did come out OK. All the X-rays are fine. It’s just a matter of working him back through it, probably a day-to-day process.”

Left tackle Duane Brown made progress Monday after missing Sunday’s game with a toe injury.

“Duane did go on the field today with the trainers,” Kubiak said. “He is better, but I still think it’s going to be a day-to-day process as we work to the weekend.”

Brown did not travel with the team to Baltimore. Swing tackle Ryan Harris was the starter in Brown’s absence in Sunday’s game.

Keenum is nowhere near Schaubs level take the binders off and put aside the UH and Houston homerism aside. Schaub is a NFL starter right now he gets cut and he quickly becomes a starter on another team. Schaub an arm is not the biggest but he can make more throws then Keenum can. Also keenum does not have the biggest arm along with the fact that he is undersized. Keenum gets cut and maybe gets sign somewhere as a backup. I want Schaub gone as much as anyone but not to be replaced by a career backup QB. I want some that is clearly better or with a higher upside. Will say this he is better the Yates but that is not saying much
