Texans Week Six vs. Rams 10/13 Noon

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Sun Oct 13, 2013 4:48 pm

Sorry that I didn't get a game thread up and running earlier. Work's been hectic and basketball preseason has started, so that has most of my attention!

Bottom Line: This is a "Must Win" game for the Texans. They are coming off of a pretty embarrassing three-game slide and their leader - despite what he is saying - appears to be completely rattled.

This game is on the shoulders of Matt Schaub. If it becomes clear that he's not up to leading the team then we need to see Yates or Keenum today. It doesn't help that he has lost one of his primary weapons in Owen Daniels, but that just means that Garrett Graham, DeAndre Hopkins, Ben Tate and the rest of the supporting characters need to step up to support him.

Despite what the scores have shown, the Defense is playing pretty well. Many of the scores of the past few games have not been the fault of JJ & the guys.

I'm not calling this game a "must win" as a slight to the Rams. I'm calling this a "must win" because this Texans team should be better. They are capable of being so much better than they have shown, and this is the time to start showing the world what they can really do.

I really hope they lose this game. I want a high draft pick.

It's only week six, man! Let's not start any draft talk!

(especially since I anticipate a VY-esque deluge of "Gotta draft Johnny Football" talk on sports radio)

They going to to the Super Bowl this season and if they make the playoffs it gives kubs a stay of execution. I want Kub gone. He is not a good head coach and his was good in the 90s.

Newton is pretty awful.

Hate settling for a FG there too, would have liked to see Foster get it on 4th down.

exactly...unbelievable...5 pick 6 in 6 games by texans QBs...is that a record?

keeshan martin hardly takes the ball to the 20 yd line after a kickoff...special teams coach apparently hasnt told him about that.
