Texans ink CB Jamar Fletcher to a 2 yr deal

I like this signing, although I'll admit that I don't know too much about the guy, he seems like a Faggins clone to me. A gambler who can make plays, but lacks the top end speed to recover when he gets beat or when he guesses wrong. They both strike me as guys who are backups on good teams, but could possibly be a serviceable #2 with good safety help.

He's going to compete and bring out the best in Faggins. Plus, playing the Colts twice a year is certainly a requirement for having as much depth at CB as possible. Now, if we can only get C.C. Brown out of the starting lineup.

Yeah CC Brown is a disaster. Like nsballer said, I will basically take whatever we can get at this point. We need to upgrade and improve in so many areas that it doesn't even seem fixable. Hopefully all of these little moves add up to someting bigger and better when the curtain goes up on the 2007 season.

Just so you know, Faggins will probably be behind Roc Alexander on the depth chart and Jamar Fletcher should be the nickel DB at best. I think we can pick up a quality corner in the draft, it seems to be full of them. As far as CC Brown goes, I hope he doesn't make it past TC. Glenn Earl FTW.

We should have much better depth for sure, and we're not overpaying for FA's who aren't worth a damn.

I like the direction the team is head personally. Maybe we will luck out and be able to grab Peterson ;)
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

We just have so many damn holes. It's like trying to plug your fingers into a sinking ship. Hopefully all of these little patchwork things we are doing start paying dividends. Sort of like the sum is greater than the individual parts.

Indeed. I think in 2-3 seasons(DAMNIT, THIS YEAR) we will have a damn solid team, especially on defense.

I'm pretty tired of being patient though, but so much damage was done by the previous regime it's going to take time to build a real team.

Anyone have an opinion on Roc Alexander?
