This was a no brainer, and he had to know it was coming. His asking price was absurd. Good move by the Texans. Now, we better start looking for someone to repalce him next year.

INDIANAPOLIS – Cornerback Dunta Robinson was angry on Thursday when he discovered the Texans had used the franchise designation on him.
Robinson, who became the first player in team history to get the franchise tag, wanted to make clear that it wasn’t the $9.57 million he’ll receive this year that infuriated him.
“I’m upset and frustrated because they were dishonest with me,” Robinson said. “They told me they weren’t going to franchise me. I wasn’t expecting it.”
General manager Rick Smith and agent Jason Chayut negotiated for weeks on a long-term contract, and when they didn’t get the deal done, Smith tagged Robinson. His one-year deal means he’ll receive the average salary of the five highest-paid cornerbacks in the league
