Do you think he's worth it? Personally, after years of watching Carr, I'm not slightly bothered by this.

He's paid more than Brady or Manning???
If not for a couple cheap shots his durability wouldn't be a question. He has the arm and the accuracy, and he seems to have the team rallied around him.

Manning has a salary of $14 million and a cap hit of $21 million. The difference is, Schaub is getting most of his contract this year and part of next, possibly some in 2011. He signed a $36 million contract and he's about to get most of it.

Ah! OK.
Well, I do think that he's going to earn it this season. Improved line, one of (if not the) best receiving corps in the league and a solid runner in Steve Slaton.
I'm really hoping that we'll see some offensive sets that have Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter, Owen Daniels and that kid from Rice all on the wings with Slaton in the backfield. Not full time, but a little run & shoot with this team could be exciting!

I didn't know that.
He is FAR better than David Carr (shoulda picked PEPPERS!!

) and with Sage finally gone we can stop with the QB debate. Its Schaub's team and we have a potent offense and if he can stay on the field then Im thinking PLAYOFFS this year!

I'm thinking that the playoffs are a definite possibility this year. A lot of people around the country seem to have forgotten that the Texans were playing shell-shocked for the first few weeks of the season during the Ike aftermath. I think that the team we saw in the last few weeks is more indicative of what we'll see this year from week one.

Not to mention - on paper anyways, the schedule looks a lot easier this year, assuming they don't get screwed over by another hurricane.
