Man thats insane. They've had some bad luck with pitchers and the last time they had a tragedy like this it was against the Cubs too.

I went to the game after Darryl Kyle died. They had a moment of silence and they didn't play any music. It was a sad game.
RIP Josh.

I have a feeling that this was drinking related.
RIP Josh.

That's what I thought but....

Mokwa said it appeared Hancock was driving at or just above the speed limit, and there were no alcohol containers in his vehicle.

"We may never know what occurred," Mokwa said. "It appears that he just merely didn't see the tow truck."

Unfortunately, here is this news.
http://www.ddtonline.com/articles/2007/ ... /spts4.txt
Report: Hancock had been drinking, marijuana found in rented vehicle
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported in this morning's edition that late Cardinals' pitcher Josh Hancock was seen drinking at a downtown restaurant shortly before his rented sports utility vehicle crashed into a tow truck early Sunday morning.

The newspaper, citing sources close to the investigation, also reported that a small amount of marijuana was discovered in the demolished vehicle.

Autopsy results have not been released, and toxicology tests were pending.

Yeah I am not surprised. You don't just run into a flashing tow truck without beer.
The dugout did a funny/nice tribute to Josh Hancock and Darryl Kyle was included in it

I kind of figured something like that was up, the accident didn't make sense from a non-impaired driver's perspective.

He was almost twice the legal legal limit and he had marijuana in his system, and he was talking on his cell phone, and he wasn't wearing a seat belt.
He made a mistake and he paid for it.
