He's a houston guy...Lidge is not working out here.

Tell me. what do you guys think of:

Lidge/Pence to the D-rays for Crawford and a prospect

With arms wide open I would say come on in, because Hence is already 24, and Crawford is 25, better speed, better defense, can hit around avg. 15-20 home runs, and he would be a great fit at CF.

Oh, and plus they are interested in Lidge anyways. And post this trade in the trade board, see what other fans think.

I would totally do that assuming the prospect is a pitcher.

I've been wanting Crawford here for quite a while. Can you imagine him in CF instead of Burke, and having him leadoff with Biggio either batting 2nd or moved down to the 7/8 spot?

My god.

It will take more than Lidge to get a player like Crawford. He is Tampa's best player so it will take a lot to nab him.

Lidge/Pence maybe throw in Burke or something would be realistic perhaps.

We won't get him though, it's a nice dream.

the thing is though the Devil Rays have a surplus of young outfielders with Dukes, Baldelli, and Delmon Young.

Not to mention...Gerry Hunsicker is one of the D-rays execs. And them getting Pence they could use him or other young prospects as trade bait for better starting pitching.

They would likely be doing us a favor but they definately arent getting shafted in terms of a quality trade.

Crawford seems happy in Tampa. The Tampa offense has improved this year. They have added more youth, speed, and defense. They are on the verge of contending if they can get a couple of quality starters.

to start with lidge is starting to come around again he hasent given up any runs in his last few apperances. and second you would have to be 100% nuts to trade pence hes 7-7 with 2 home runs in consective game. just to add this hes the reason we beat the giants 2-1 so ya if anything sign pence to a long term deal

Yeah this deal is looking much much better in the eyes of the D-Rays right about now than when this was first mentioned and Lidge was sucking while Pence was in the minor leagues.

yeah I suggested this trade about a month ago when lidge was horrible and no one really had any idea pence would be this good. So yeah....nevermind!
