Colts Bring Back DeMulling

He was primarily a guard in Detroit.

Not a big headline signing, but Rick DeMulling was a pretty good guard during his tenure here. His play really diminished with the Lions once seperated from Colts' o-line coach Howard Mudd. He's hoping to regain his old form, and at 30, he's still in his prime. I'm not sure whether he'll start or not, but he will certainly add a lot of quality depth in a sport where games are won and lost in the trenches. His ability to play three positions will make him a solid contributor for our o-line next season. Thoughts?

Geez, I was wondering where this dude went.

Won't make much of a difference imo. Probably a backup to Lilja, outside chance to start.

Probably takes over the role Tupe Peko had last year (not this past Super Bowl year, but the year before). He'll probably be one of the first guys off the bench who will play anywhere on the line so we won't have to shuffle the line all over the place with a single injury.

Are we sure he's really guaranteed to make the team however?

Well, when the Lions signed him, they thought that they were getting a prime OL, but Mudd, his system, and Manning can hide a lot of flaws. Just like w/ our line now, whenever we need him, DeMulling will come off the bench and perform.
