Next up is....
Prospect Name: Jon Beason
College: Miami (Jr.)
Hometown: Miramar, Fla.
Position: OLB
Measurables: 6"0 230 4.72
Projection: Mid-Late First Round Pick
NFL Comparison: D.J. Williams, Broncos

Strengths: Terrific athlete with good speed and quickness. Plays bigger than he measures. Very instinctive and a solid tackler. Plays with a mean streak and isn't afraid to lay wood on the opponent. Uses hands well to shed blocks. Has sideline to sideline range and is solid in coverage with his ability to cover the tight-end. Good change of direction and moves well through traffic. Very good straight-line speed with a burst. A team leader who motivates and direct teamates.
Weaknesses: Lacks ideal size. Frame appears to be maxed out. Peaks too much in the backfield and doesn't have the second gear to make up ground against the deep pass. Lacks fluid hips in coverage. Overly aggressive at times and will get fooled. Gets engulfed by massive blockers. Durability is a concern.
Overview: Experienced at all three linebacker positions. A Cover-2 defense is probably the best fit as he will be better served playing in a scheme that will let him make plays in space rather than stepping up and trying to fill gaps. He's a very physical player who leads by example and will make plays all over the field. Has the body and instincts to be a great OLB one day. Although a bit undersized, he's extremely strong for his size and will lay punishing hits. Needs work in coverage but has the tools. Will be a great special teamer right off the bat.
