I think David will be a Saint next year then. The Colts don't have the cap room to be paying longterm front-loaded contracts at this time. Plus, although David is a good Cover 2 CB, you can find those system type guys in the mid-rounds of the NFL Draft. Still, David is a gritty CB who has good ball skills, but he may lack the deep speed for his size to be anything more than a nickel CB in another scheme. It makes me uneasy having two new starting CB's next season in Marlin Jackson and Kelvin Hayden, but I'm confident in their ability as well as presumably Tim Jennings in the nickel role.

As PR07 said, players like this are easily taken in the mid-to-late rounds of the draft. While I'm upset we lost him, because I see him as a fan favorite, whenever our new players have a stellar season we are going to lose them. He won't do well in NO, unfortunately.

I know he's nothing great, but trust me, he is a huge upgrade over Fred Thomas.

sucks that we lost another but he is replaceable.
