Colts UDFA Signings

Post#1 » by PR07 » Mon Apr 30, 2007 5:11 am

This can be a pretty big deal for a franchise. A lot of these guys have been successes for us. Guys like Saturday, Brackett, Rhodes, Utecht, and Moorehead were all undrafted free agents that we signed.

I dug up as much info as I could. The guys with nfl.com and nfldraftcountdown profiles are probably "considered" the best of the bunch.

Echols has some size and could be a good run stuffer for us. KaMichael Hall has a lot of physical tools and is a pretty talented LB. Antonio Smith walked-on at OSU, but is a pretty gritty CB who may fight his way on the Colts' roster. Brandon Archer is an intangibles LB. Clifton Dawson could tbe the Colts' next discovered gem at RB. He probably has the best opportunity out of anyone to make the roster with only Addai and DeDe Dorsey as our only RB's.

What happened to Mungro? Are you putting him at FB or did we lose him and I just don't know about it? Also, does anybody know what happened with Darius Walker? I was kind of hoping we would draft him in the 7th round, but has anyone even signed him as a FA?

Mungro is coming off an ACL tear and is a free agent. While I like the guy, it might be time for some fresher legs.

Darius Walker has signed as an UDFA with the Bears.

Yeah, really disappointed we couldn't hop on Darius Walker any quicker than Chicago. I really think he'd be a great guy to backup Joey Addai, and provides the same skills we'd like (great receiver out of the backfield, solid, not spectacular runner, strong runner, intelligent player, etc).
