Simon was caught unawares, and the Colts weren't talking.
It could be considered the first step towards terminating the contract.
No status update on the grievance, and the only thing of note Simon said was that he wasn't planning on retiring.

If Simon wasn't informed about this, then this probably doesn't bode well for him. At least we're finally seeing some action though in this whole big mystery...

Man, it would've been ridiculous to have both Simon and McFarland in our Cover2 anchoring the middle. Oh well... I love Brock, but two 300-lbers who can move?

The Indianapolis Star 07/14/07:
Colts: No move on Simon
The Colts on Friday refuted a Thursday announcement on the NFL's official Web site that defensive tackle Corey Simon had been activated from the physically unable to perform list. There has been no roster move concerning Simon, a team spokesman said, adding that Simon automatically reverted to the active roster at the end of the 2006 season.
A league spokesperson confirmed that an error had been made in posting the information on NFL.com.
Simon did not play last year. He underwent surgery on his left knee during training camp. He was placed on the league's non-football/injury list for an unspecified condition in October.
Hmmm....
