Indy Cap Situation

Post#1 » by PR07 » Fri Jul 27, 2007 4:45 pm

The Colts should end up having more than $10 million in space if Simon gets cut. According to Len Pasquerelli, as of 6/29/07, the Colts had $3.3 million in cap space. With Freeney's recent deal(save $3.4 million), and Tarik retiring(save $4.5 million), the Colts should have about $11.2 million is cap space, and assuming Corey Simon gets cut, that would save the Colts another $4 milllion I believe. Colts could end up having $15.2 million in space for 2007.

 Should be enough to get Clark and Sanders signed longterm.

Well, don't look now, but Simon might be back (see Simon thread on board or Indy Star report from Mike Chappell)...

Even still, we should be fine to sign Bob and Dallas w/ the money we saved on DFree's deal and Tarik's retirement. Add in the fact that we'll probably restructure either Peyton, Marvin, or Reggie next off-season, we should be ok.

According to coltscap.net Tarik through bonuses and everything else would have made 8 million this year and Simon 7 million.
