Who do you want in the playoffs?

Post#1 » by Latrell » Fri Dec 21, 2007 5:46 am

OK, So we locked up the #2 seed and we have a bye week in the first round of the playoffs...but who do we want to play in the first round? There are some tough teams and teams that we have struggled against in the past..So we got

-The Jacksonville Jaguars
Even though we swept them, this is a tough team, and I mean TOUGH, the best smash-mouth football team in the league..they run and they run with authority, smart QB that doesn't make mistakes and a solid defense..I definately think we can beat them, but not exactly my favorite opponent and not exactly a team I want to play a 3rd time in a year...

-The Cleveland Browns
The Browns are actually in a position to win their division!!Who saw that coming?! But they really have an outstanding offense, Derek Anderson has had a Pro Bowl type season and he has some outstanding targets in Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow...Jamal Lewis is the perfect power back to complement that passing game..but the guy who this wouldn't be possible without, JOE THOMAS...what an outstanding rookie RT..Best I've seen in YEARS.......Their D however is...um...uggh..
The Browns are team we can take just because their defense is so far below ours its not even funny...They'd have to have an absolute monster offenseive game to come anywhere close to beating us.

-The Tennessee Titans
The Titans are on the outside looking in right now but they still have a good chance of making it, at 8-6 they're very much alive. The Titans always play us tough and they're a rugged team built on defense and Vince Young's playmaking ability..Offensively they're inconsistent on a week to week basis, but they're always gonna be tough on D and they just tend to always give us trouble in general..TEN/IND games are always close.

-The San Diego Chargers
Personally my most feared potential opponent..This is a team that has been playing on an elite level since their rough 1-3 start, and they have given Peyton alot of trouble this year...and in years past..Their secondary especially has given us problems....a 3 headed monster with LT, Gates and Rivers...a defense anchored by Shawn Merrimen...Antonio Cromartie is leading the league in INTs,Call me crazy but I'd rather play the Patriots than these guys.....The only thing they don't have going for them is Norv Turner

-The Pittsburgh Steelers
THe Steelers have struggled of late going 2-3 in their last 5. They're like Jackonville, a smash-mouth team, they like to run it down your throat exccept they dont have Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones Drew to do it....They got a great D too.

Overall I think the easiest opponent is probably the Browns, Id rank them like this

1.Browns
2.Steelers
3.Titans
4.Jaguars
5.Chargers

1. Steelers
2. Browns
3. Titans
4. Jaguars
5. Chargers

I think the Steelers are heading downhill despite a hot start. They lost Willie Parker tonight, and I don't think they have the secondary to match up with us. They are the opponent I'd most like to face.

The Browns can hang with us offensively. I think we'd win it, but it would be in a bit of a shootout. Their defense isn't strong enough when it's all said and done.

Jeff Fisher coaches the best game out of anybody against us. Don't quite have the offensive firepower though, we'd probably win, but it would be close.

Jaguars always play us tough. It would be a tough and physical game, but eventually, the Jaguars would make stupid penalties or stupid turnovers down the stretch.

Chargers have beaten us in our past two matchups. I can't think of another team that has done this. I think we'd win, but that uncertainty puts them last on my list.
