Does anyone think that we have a shot to sign Colvin? I think he would fit in with our team... He is from Naptown and maybe he wants to play in his hometown... Maybe we could sign him for a cheap deal....

Colvin has been one of the few Pats' players I can actually stand. I could see maybe him signing as a pass rushing DE since he played that role with New England in that role a lot. However, my guess is he'll probably land with a 3-4 defense looking for a veteran at LB.

We'd fit that bill, too, now that Morris has been released, and Boiman in the air, although we wouldn't exactly be 3-4. The way I see it, though, a lot of his success has been because of Belicheck's system.

Colvin would be a nice pickup. I think he still has some gas in the tank.

I'd love this pick, especially if we got him on the cheap. We need at least one backup speed rusher, if not two or three. We saw how great it worked for the Giants w/ their bevy of pass rushers, and conversely, we saw how badly it hurt our team and our entire defense when either Dwight or Robert goes down.
The Cover-2 is mainly predicated on the Front Four getting pressure on the QB. We've been fortunate w/ injuries for a long time, but we can't rely on that blessing any longer. Gonzo filled in nicely for Marvin at WR, now we need someone who can fill in for Dwight until he returns, and then we need another backup after that guy, too.
Colvin would help in that regard... but would he adapt to the 4-3? I could see us using him as our primary backup LB to the 3 we have now, then bringing him in on some 3rd downs to rush.

Its always good to get deeper at LB. This would be most welcomed.
Man the Pats need some LBs, with Bruschi and Seau aging...they're only left with Thomas and Vrabel..o well better for us

Some new interesting info on Rosy Colvin:
COLTS CONSIDERING COLVIN

NFL teams are mostly evaluating college players today, but Colts General Manager Bill Polian says that when the draft is over he could be ready to think about adding a veteran free agent, linebacker Rosevelt Colvin.
When healthy, Colvin has been a solid player for the Patriots the last five seasons, but he
