Once again, money is being thrown left and right.
The Browns have made a splash, and I'm sure the rest of the league is taking notice. They resigned Derek Anderson to a big deal, and now they've trade for 2 time Pro Bowler, earth-mover DT Shaun Rodgers (formerly of Lions) and solid DT Corey Williams (formerly of Packers). They helped add big game ability to their offense by adding ex-Patriot burner Donte Stallworth.
In the division, the Jags moved DT Marcus Stroud to the Bills today for some draft picks. I'm glad to see him out of the division because when healthy, him and Big John Henderson were a load to handle. They also signed ex-Charger starting CB Drayton Florence who lost his job to Cromartie this season. Solid pick-up for them. They lost WR Ernest Wilford, but added former Viking WR draft bust Troy Williamson (trade) and Raider castoff Jerry Porter to their WR corps.
Other Big Deals:
The Jets landed one of the bigger prizes on the free-agent market Saturday, signing OG Alan Faneca to a blockbuster deal. Rated by PFW as the third-best unrestricted free agent at the start of free agency, behind Randy Moss and Asante Samuel, Faneca, 31, reportedly will receive $40 million over five years, with more than $20 million guaranteed. The annual average of $8 million and the sum of guaranteed money are both records for an offensive lineman, according to NFL.com. The Jets also received DT Kris Jenkins from the Panthers for a third- and fifth-round pick. Jenkins had been seeking a trade for more than a year and said he wished to be closer to Maryland, where he attended college. He will likely serve as the nose tackle in the Jets' 3-4 defense next season.
The 49ers have signed arguably the top defensive end available in unrestricted free agency, Justin Smith. The former Bengal agreed to a six-year contract, according to multiple sources, with approximately $20 million in guaranteed money.
Asante Samuel, perhaps the highest-profile free agent who is expected to switch teams, and the Eagles have come to an agreement on what

I likes Tripplett when he was here, and I would really like it if we checked him out again, what with McFarland's release. We could use another DT to shore up the depth chart, given that Tripplett would be willing to take a backseat to some of these other players.
Also, MOSS!?
I know free agency really isn't our thing, but what if we added him as Harrison insurance? We would have a better recieving corps than the Pats had last year.
I don't think so, though.
Although this isn't a free agency move, we should draft Trevor Laws for our defense.

A day after the Atlanta Falcons signed running back Michael Turner to split carries with Jerious Norwood, it's official that Warrick Dunn is the odd man out: Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that the Falcons will release Dunn.
But it doesn't sound as if Dunn plans to retire. According to Schefter, at least two teams are interested in acquiring Dunn's services: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for whom Dunn played the first five years of his NFL career; and the Indianapolis Colts, whose coach, Tony Dungy, has a good relationship with Dunn dating to their days in Tampa together.

As soon as I saw that Dunn had been released, I immediately pictured him in a Colts Uni. No offense to Kenton, but if Warrick were to join up w/ Addai, our check down game would be better than it was w/ Rhodes here.
Also, I know he's old, but what about Jevon Kearse? If we could get him on the cheap while he's ring hunting, we'd have a pretty good triad of DEs to rush the passer. We saw how good the Giants were w/ Strahan, Umenyiora, and Tuck... we also saw how bad our pass rush was when either Dwight or Robert aren't in there. We need another speed rusher who's experienced. Thoughts???

Shaun Alexander is expected to be released by Seattle after signings og Duckett & J.Jones this week. Doubt we shoot for him, but I could see him in Tampa as they have lots of cap space - increasing the w.Dunn posibility here (IMO). I too could see Triplett back - depending where his weight went in Buffalo, as he likely added weight for their scheme.
