The Cincinnati Enquirer - The Bengals have signed tight end Ben Utecht to an offer sheet, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The Colts still have time to match the offer for the restricted free-agent.

Terms of the offer sheet were not disclosed, but Indianapolis will have roughly one week to decide whether or not to match the contract

Utecht has good hands and is a decent blocker, but I don't think this would be a huge loss. He has never really given us a whole lot in terms of yards after catch and is fumble/injury prone. I wonder what the compensation would be.

From Yahoo : The signing does not require the Bengals to compensate Indianapolis with a draft choice, because Utecht entered the NFL as a college free agent and was not tendered by the Colts beyond draft-status level.

9M for 3 years is a bit much. They may not pay him that much, but probably worded the contract so that we would have. TE is a position we have been fairly good at getting production from draftees and doubt we miss Ben.
