Offseason 2017

Post#1 » by akeemj » Tue Dec 13, 2016 6:23 pm

Cuts: Odrick, Thomas, House

Free Agents: none.
I think we are at a point where we have good young talent at every position and we don't need to go out and give these guys big contracts that they will never hold up to. We should continue to build threw the draft and sign our own players.

Re-sign: Prince, everyone who was drafted in rounds 2-5 in 2014. I also think we should re-sign Luke to a two year contract only if he plays RT. Johnathon should also get a two year deal because he improved. I would like to see if his play get even better in 2017.
Pick up Kelvin 4 year extension.
I would make blake Bortles show improvement before I use the 5th year extension. So he will basically have to put in work before he gets an extension

Mock Draft: RD 1 Allen RD 2 Ethan Pocic RD 3 best QB available.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I'd possibly look to bring in another veteran OLman but pickings will definitely be slim.

Your mock draft looks pretty similar to my dream scenario at the moment:

RD 1 - J.Allen/M.Garrett (Continue to bring in talent to disrupt the QB)

RD 2 - E.Pocic/Q.Nelson (Continue to improve the OL)

RD 3 - P.Mahomes/QB (Someone to push Bortles)

I've seen him going to you guys in round 3 in some mocks. He or Mahomes would be good to push Bortles/be his backup.

It appears it's two separate deals if Albert happens at all.

Yup, two seperate deals went down.

Albert for a late round 2018 pick and then Thinas for a 2017 7th rounder.

I'd be lying if I said the idea of Fournette or Cook wouldn't excite me. Get me Forrest Lamp in the 2nd and I'm a happy camper.

Ben Volin‏ @BenVolin
2 nuggets as I head home from the Combine: Pats remain interested in bringing back Marty Bennett, though Jags & Raiders are interested, too
