Jaguars Draft thread

Post#1 » by Latrell » Fri Apr 6, 2007 9:18 pm

Well the Draft is less than a month away, thought I'd start a thread to get some Draft talk started.

Im pretty certain the Jags will draft a defensive player in the first rd. I think there may be chance Ted Ginn drops to the Jags and that would be really great but I think the 2 guys to target should be Reggie Nelson and Adam Carriker.

There's a strong possibilty that one of Nelson, Carriker, Ginn will fall to them at 17 and each of them would look solid in a Jags uni.

Reggie Nelson seems like the most ideal pick to me. The Jags have shown a real good amont of interest in him and have even taken him out to dinner to discuss football. The Jags lost Deon Grant so they have a big hole at free safety and he would fill it perfectly. Nelson is exactly what the jags need on their defense, another play maker. Him and Darius would work well together, and the future would also look very good with him and Sensenbaugh roaming in the secondary.

I would have to agree. Seeing Reggie Nelson in Jacksonville would make me shiver in excitement. He is exactly what we need. But I will be happy with either Nelson or Carriker. Hell even Ginn would be nice. :)

They will take my home town hero...Reggie Nelson!! The kid has unbelievable speed, uncanny intangibles on getting to the ball, and shutting down the deep ball. He is an incredibly hard hitter.Don;t let his size fool you, he can lay the smack down.

I have heard other names though such as:

Jarvis Moss, DE - Florida
Adam Carriker, DE - Nebraska
Jamal Anderson, DE - Arkansas
Lawrence Timmons, OLB - Florida State
Ted Ginn Jr, WR - Ohio St.

We'll just have to wait & see...roughly 10 days!

I am very excited about the drafting of Reggie Nelson. Part of me kind of wanting them to get Brady Quinn, but I am equally as happy with Reggie Nelson. Our number two ranked defense just got better, because he gives up another playmaker on defense. Let's be honest, we do not really have a playmaker at safety.

Man i'm hoping that Durant, the 2nd round LB they gambled on, turns into a solid NFL player. I hate gambles in 1st and 2nd rounds...
