from what I saw in the paper, Green plays the 1st Q, Cleo 2nd, Beck & Hamden the 2nd half

Beck looked good. That #28 RB looked good too. Ronnie seemed like he always does, like he'll almost break one but not quite.

Ronnie broke quite a few, 13 rushes 57 yards.
I think all of our RBs looked solid, Brown, Chatman, Hobbs, hell even the FBs looked good. Hopefully the O-line is up to the task.
Green looked better, Lemon was solid (but benefited from the defense ignoring the RB circle route), and I liked what I saw from Beck.
Was a pretty fun 11-10 preseason game to watch.

I like Soliai the DT, he looks like a keeper for sure
not a fan of Cam not having Ginn return kicks and having our starting tailback and his huge contract out there in a preseason game. If Ginn isn't going to return kicks, what the hell did we draft him for?
Beck seems to have the "it" factor, but thats also because he is playing in garbage time against 3rd and 4th string defenses. I am all for letting him sit this year and absorb the knowledge and experience for this season. Let him compete with Green next year.

I don't think Lorenzo Booker played any snaps at all. Weird. If Ginn is gonna share KR/PR duties with anyone, it should be him. I'm looking forward to seeing if he can really shift into high gear in the open field.

or at least use one of the backup RBs or WRs like Chatman or Az Hakim as KR. I think Booker missed the game because his baby was born.

Makes me wonder, though, what are Hakim's chances that he makes the final roster at all. I was excited when we first signed him, because he's such a burner, such a blur. But then we drafted Ginn. Then P.K. Sam stars in NFL Europe. Then Kerry Reed looks solid in preseason. And then there's David Sutton, the 6'6" 220 lb. monster that the team may want to keep around and groom as a longterm project. So with the Top 4 already set (Chambers, M. Booker, Hagan, Ginn), and a couple of younger fringe players, Hakim may get squeezed out.

ok, if not Az then any of the other guys trying to make the roster. Not Ronnie was my point.

Yeah, I got your point, but it really didn't have anything to do with mine, which specifically had to do with Hakim.

what do you think of the TE situation?

I think we're gonna spend a 1st day draft pick on a TE next offseason. But for the mean time, it's a weakness we'll just have to make due with.
From what I've heard, David Martin isn't an appreciably better blocker than Randy McMicheal (he blew an assignment to help free up Brown on the left side of the line in the 1st quarter of the KC game), he has a track record of getting hurt, and for someone who supposedly has underrated playmaking abilities, he's already had a couple drops this preseason.
Courtney Anderson is HUGE and made a spectacular one-handed catch that otherwise could've been an INT, but he still probably won't make it any higher than #2 on the depth chart. And a little troubling is the fact that he contributed to that hopeless offense in Oakland last year...fair or not, it's guilty by association.
Justin Peele is serviceable enough, I guess. He'll get his snaps in because of his familiarity with Cam back from his Charger days. But he's not really a threat to do anything. No one really has to account for him when he's on the field. He just blocks, that's it.
And then Tim Massaquoi will get cut.
Overall, they're the weak link of our offense's skill positions. But it's okay, I can live with that. I'm expecting Cameron to find a way to make them look halfway competent. And the (eventual) addition by subtraction of getting rid of McMichael is worth it. In another year or two, TE will be better than what Cam started with.
