John Beck...

Post#1 » by xstockholmsyndromex » Mon Aug 27, 2007 2:19 am

First off...I am a died in the wool Niners Fan, but I will definitely rooting for the Dolphins as well. I wish you guys all the best this year.

Now, for the original topic of my thread...John Beck....

What do you guys think of him so far?? Ive only seen bits and pieces of the pre-season, but Ithought he looked pretty good the other night against the Bucs. Im a huge BYU fan and loved having Beck QB our team the last 4 years. I hope he has a ton of success. He has a rocket arm and great accuracy. I think he will struggle a little at first, when he gets playing time, but will eventually come around....just like in college.

Well, just curious what the consenus on him was....

I personally think he could be a better version of Jeff Garcia and if thats the case I will be more than happy to have Beck on this team. I think he's the starter next season and could possibly play this season if Miami is bad enough.

He seems to have the "IT" factor when it comes to pressure situations or coming back from behind. That shows poise and leadership. IMO he still needs to learn the offense which centers on "timing" with your receivers. Do not be surprised to see this guy play in a few pro-bowls in a few seasons.

Like I said from what i've seen he reminds me of a stronger armed Jeff Garcia.

i for one think he ismore of the drew bree's mold...nice arm, kinda short but knows how to play the game. i think next yr he is our starting qb. so far in the preseason he has look very good for a rookie. I for one think he will be a good qb(not great) but good enough to go as far as we need.

to me, classic Garcia makes the plays when using his feet, throwing on the run and using his athletecism and escapability to make uncanny plays. Beck has a strong, accurate arm, doesn't seem overly athletic (but not a stiff). Brees might be a good comparison.
