Miami Herald - Wide receiver Chris Chambers, the Dolphins' No. 1 pass-catcher, is reportedly on the trading block, a move that could signal the growing confidence in the development of first-round draft pick Ted Ginn Jr. as a wide receiver.

Although Chambers has not been prominently featured during the preseason, it is not believed to be because of any level of disappointment from the coaching staff. But the NFL Network reported that Chambers' name has been popping up in league circles, and teams are aware that he's available. [READ]

except the Herald this morning refuted the story..

starting wide receivers don't get traded a week before the season starts

plus the cap hit is enormous

maybe trade in the offseason, I'd give him this season is Cam's offense to see if he can produce

This morning 560 was flooded with "Chris Chambers Bashers" and everyone and their mother wanted him off this team. lol

Chris Chambers is Eddie Jones in pads. They tease you with their skills and talent with "good enough" performances but don't have the heart or killer instinct to become elite. You love them because they are good people but make you mad because they can't perform to their abilities on the court/field.
Can you imagine an "in-his-prime" Eddie Jones with let say Tim Hardaway's heart? How about Chris Chambers with Zach Thomas heart?

Both are smart players but they can produce for some reason and only tease you. Chambers has trouble getting open even when going against average defenders. Then he'll make the one impressive catch that will make you believe in his talent, skills and the reason why you wouldn't want him traded and on the next play he gets outplayed or doesn't go after the ball or just drops it.

Doesn't it sound like EJ dropping 26pts on a night but always failing to make that clutch shot or disappearing in the 4th qtr for 2pts?
Luckily for Chambers, he can still correct that; as for EJ? He is who he is, a very good player that didn't have what it takes to become elite. That is why Chambers i not worth his contract (sounds familiar?) and is not considered a 1st WR on a team or even a 2nd WR by others (familiar again?)

Here is to Chambers hopefully proving me wrong.

Chambers has never been the same since Kenoy Kennedy knocked his block off about 6 or 7 years ago. I believe we were undefeated at like 7-0, that was a sunday night ESPN game in Denver, Fiedler made a huge comeback, Olindo won the game with a long FG. That game was when Chambers became scrambled eggs and Jay broke his hand and missed a ton of time and the season was lost.

You're probably thinking of someone else Lane. Chris Chambers has only been in the league 6 years and has had his best seasons in 04 and in 05.

Either way he's a talent and the Bills could sure use him as their #2 WR behind his best friend Lee Evans.

i think if we can get a second round pick for him good bye chambers...this team is rebuilding and he is already 29. i think next year we sign a younger wr to replace him and use ginn and hagen as 2 and 3...

maybe I have the years messed up, but it definitely was CHambers who got nailed by Kennedy and was never the same, not able to go across the middle and gets the yips when he hears footsteps. Could have been 2003.

That was in early November of 2002 and I remember the game like it was yesterday.

As for Chambers I hope he doesn't get traded. He's had a raw deal here and has never had a good QB to throw to him. Lets see if Trent Green can get him the ball this year. Green is a similar QB to Ferrotte (Who was here when Chambers had his best year).

decently talented Wide recievers clearly get traded the week before the season starts

I wanted to assassinate Fiedler and his weak ass throwing arm for letting Chambers get hit like that.

When you have the ball right in your hands, within catching distance and all but have it, yet drop it? That's not the fault of the QB, but Chris himself.
