Teddy Gin Jr?

After two losses during the regular season and a pair of sub-par performances by our first round draft pick Ted Gin, does anybody else feel like we should have went in another direction this past NFL draft? I personally think we should have kept Wes Welker as our slot reciever/return man(instead of trading him to our biggest conference rival) and we could'a used Gin's pick to draft a more NFL ready player(whether Defense or O-Line), and we would have been abled to pick up a better skilled reciever in John Beck's spot like Dwayne Bowe, Dwayne Jarret, or even Robert Meachem...

What do you think, will Gin be good enough this year to live up to the high expectations of being a top 10 pick?

Too early to tell. 1st Rd WRs rarely do much their rookie seasons.

He's the first WR drafted in the top 10 not to have a catch in his 3 weeks...

Actually, he has a catch.

Err...it's 3 games into his rookie season.

C'mon now. A little early for this. Steve Smith was only a punt returner his 1st season and a 3rd receiver his second season; now he's one of the best receivers in football. Let's wait till the end of the year to discuss what Ginn showed us as a rookie and how much room he has to improve.

I think tedd gin will be fine. For 1 thing trent green is no deep passer and thats tedd ginns strong point. I think we should look to move Chambers for a 3 round pick. I think Hagen,Ginn jr,(free agent) will be just fine. I think RT,LG is key for our offence line. Also i think its time to let keith traylor era to end. START Soliu (rookie) and Rodriq Wright. Also i dont know why we have not tryd to play Ab Wright (LB) and Kelvin Smith(LB) i think we need to see what we have with them. I for one like the move of Danel's to safty and with Yatum bell coming back next year i think our Safty position will be ok. WE need 1 starter quility Corner and another nickle corner ,lehan is ok for 3 corner and key reserve. I for one think the pick of ginn is good but i would of rather gone with Patrick Willlis.

On the last game, he had 2 big ones (including a TD) that were called back because of penalties. I have seen the same happen a couple of other times in other games. Looks like he is getting more comfortable with the return game. As a WR, I believe it is going to take him a couple of years like Edwards from Cleveland. I think by season's end he is going to have a couple of TD's on Specials Teams and a big catch or two on offense. Just enough to have us debate into next season if he was a good pick or not.

Let's wait until year 3 before we call him a bust. Drafting him and his family might be a good thing after all.

I have to say that I'm now a fan of the Ginn pick (not entirely though, as he still as a long way to go, but still....). At 1st I wasn't so ecstatic as I was confused, per se. -- Given that we needed a QB and Quinn was sitting right there.

Now that he's been given a chance to be involved in the game, you see his value to the team; teams are forced to respect his speed and play off of him, allowing our QB to find him for quick passes before the DBs have the time to react to the throw.

If Hagan or another WR we pick up in the draft next season can come and make an impact opposite Ginn, our offense is going to be entirely different and nearly set, when it was one of our question marks going into the season.

The jury is still out on Ginn JR being a 1st option receiver for this team but IMO he has shown that he can be one of the top 3 receivers in a team and a dominating Punt/Kickoff returner.
