genius if they got a 2nd

The Miami Dolphins reportedly have traded wide receiver Chris Chambers to the San Diego Chargers for what it believed a second-round draft choice.

According to FOXSports.com, Chambers confirmed the trade in an e-mail to FOXSports, but declined further comment until speaking with Dolphins coach Cam Cameron and general manager Randy Mueller.

Chambers has 31 catches for 415 yards with no touchdowns this season.

You beat me to it.

It would be GREAT if we got a 2nd rounder which is exactly what we used to draft him. I wonder if anyone else is on their way out? I sure hope so. Time to let the young players get experience and prove they deserve a spot. Bring back Kerry Reed!!

send Marty Booker off somewhere
send Traylor for anything, JT if you get a high pick

^^^ I agree.

I wonder if DeAngelo Hall is on his way here? Trading Chambers definitely clears some cap room a give us a pick to ship Atlanta's way...

Damn son, that would be insane if the Phins got a second rounder for Chambers. That's what I'm talking about Cameron.

I am psyched, great trade for both teams. Chambers should do well with that offense (which he now knows because they run the same offense Cam runs), on the same field as LT & Gates. Getting a 2 for him was great. He has been stagnant here, not getting a TD in like 14 games or something. I am psyched. Nice work Camueller

Welker (2nd & 7th) >>> Chambers (2nd only)

By the way, Patriots are going to score a sick amount of points on us Sunday. Welker (ex-Dolphin), Stallworth (Chose Pats over Phins) and Randy Moss (JJ call for a redo of the John Avery draft) are going to humiliate Miami. Sammy Morris (ALWAYS underrated here) is going to run for another 100 yards and Brady will be having by the start of the 3rd qtr while his backup makes us look even worst than him...

Yeah, I am looking forward to Sunday I guess...

Indeed, I don't get the move from one stance; he's still relatively young and produces and could be a piece to move into the future with alongside Ginn. So why trade him?

But! A 2nd rounder is great if we can end up with that.

Maybe now Ginn will get more PT, which will only advance his progression.

Everything I've read about Hall is that he's more of a talker than a performer. He talks a big game, but rarely backs it up....

yeah but this shows signs of them "getting it": the need to rebuild with youth, the recognition that Chambers was "meh", gives Ginn the opportunity to play more. Teams improve with good drafting and lots of it, it might take years, but thats how you have to do it in the NFL. I wish we could undo the Porter signing so badly.

Likewise on the Porter situation.

Wonder if we can atleast get a 4th for him in the off-season.

no way, Porter's salary and cap hit make him untradeable

maybe Levi Jones gets him sent to jail

Porter signing reminds me of the Eric Green saga (both ex-Pitt players.. pattern here?)
I don't know that I can take another year of him talking and not backing it up. I hope Capers is not the reason.
I believe Porter's performance (and JT also) has to do more with the decline of our defensive line. Losing all those players along with Traylor aging is killing us. They can't hold off linemen to allow our playmakers to make plays. I couldn't understand why we let go of Fred Evans. He would be our starter today without a doubt.

We do play Cincy in a few weeks, maybe he can stir the pot again and something happens to Porter the night before/day after the game. :eyebrows:

it's real slow but sometimes it doesn't reload

a lot of people are pissed, I am SHOCKED

I guess they develop blind loyalty to players who have been here, I don't see it. He is a mediocre receiver at best. He'll do well when he is the 3rd or 4th option in SD, but I am ecstatic at getting a 2 for him. I could see being pissed if JT or Zach were moved, but not Chris Chambers.

I'd expect a full fleet outrage should either be moved. BUT, both deserve legit shots to win a SB ring, unless they want to finish their careers here, with the SB a mere pipe dream at the moment.

what would it take for them to move JT? A one and a three or four? I'd do it.

If we can get a 1 for JT plus a 3 or 4, I'm all for it, too.

He's coming off a DPOY season, just 1 season ago. And a lot of his struggles this season can be extended to the entire defense playing horrible, not necessarily losing a step or old age, per se. -- So he's still got a lot of value in this L if you think outside the box.
