I wouldn't do it. We need all the draft picks we can get, and not hand them out in trades, even if it's for somebody of Chad's caliber. We aren't going to be good for a few years, and by that time, he's 33 years old and is no use. Keep the pick Parcells.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Take a look at my new Mock Draft in the Draft section. Real interesting trade I have for us in that draft. Players drafted with 1st 3 picks

DE/OLB Vernon Gholston OSU

3/4 DE Kentwan Balmer UNC

TE John Carlson ND

I love your passion and respect your knowledge Oak, but the only thing worse than mock drafts in January are mock drafts that make trades

Wiretap

Source: Bengals' Johnson Feels Betrayed By Lewis, May Sit Out 2008
3rd February, 2008 - 4:34 pm

ESPN.com - Bengals' WR Chad Johnson feels betrayed by Coach Marvin Lewis and is privately threatening to sit out the 2008 season if he isn't traded, according to a source.

Johnson was upset after the coach quit speaking to his receiver early in the season, according to the source.

Miami Sends 2 round pick to Bengals.Think of Ocho Cinco and Ginn on the edge!! Select Chris Long with first pick. And get Either Asunte Samuel or Albert haynesworth and we are on are way to the playoff hunt.

How much is Asante Samuel gonna demand in the open market?

And can NE franchise him?

I think Asante had a guarantee that they wouldn't franchise him when he signed this last 1 year deal.. I am kind of torn, we need desperately to upgrade the secondary, but to give him the contract he's going to get, like what Nate Clements got last year, sick numbers, is it worth it for a rebuilding team? To waste 2 or so years of him at $10m per on a reclamation project?

also, Ocho Cinco has turned me off with his game playing this week. It was funny when he was only targeting the Fins in that video, but since then he has gone on every city's radio show in the NFL and said he wants to play for that city's team. No thanks to the me first ego players like that.

Re Samuel:

If a player signs a $50M contract/5 years, and is given a $30M signing bonus, how much of the contract is figured into the annual cap numbers? :dontknow:

Re: Johnson

If he's available for a 3rd rounder and nothing more, I wouldn't mind. But, if we have to give anything else (2nd, future 1st etc), he can continue to parade his displeasure elsewhere....

I believe the signing bonus is prorated through the life of the contract. Bonuses are the only guarantee money in a contract I think.
