Word on the 790 the ticket news flash is that Adam Scefter is reporting that Jason Taylor will not be dealt. The reason is the team feels he would be more productive then a 3rd round pick which they where projecting to get for him. Now does this change the draft???

OLB Joey Porter
OLB Jason Taylor
OLB Matt Roth
OLB Abraham Wright

Or does Parcells do this

OLB Jason Taylor ILB Channing Crowder ILB Joey Porter OLB Chris Long

Wow that's a pretty decent linebacking core. Matt Roth would be the guy to give Taylor a breather and eventually take over in the future. Wow I like this.

I'll believe it when I (don't) see it... I think they are intent on trading him but would if someone offers something sexy on draft day, IE a low #1/high #2

I am pretty sure they have put out plenty of feelers out there for them to come out with this. I dont think this would have come out public if they where intent on trading him. Nobody is going give up a high draft pick 1-2 for him. Possibly a 3rd which they said isnt good enough.

free agency hasn't started yet, this kind of thing wouldn't happen until closer to the draft or during the draft

I know they haven't come out and said "we definitely want to keep Jason Taylor". I am with Lane, they will listen and go from there.

Put Chris Long on the inside. I believe in him.

Joey porter is not an inside linebacker.

All of you guys are solidifying the fact that Chris Long is not going to be the pick. Taylor is staying and Huizenga is not going to allow Parcells to cut Porter after all the guaranteed money he dished out to him. Matt Roth is very similar in stature to Chris Long and maybe just needs to be in a system and a coaching staff to beleive in him and place him as a permenant 3-4 OLB instead of a 4-3 rush end. Then you have Abraham Wright who I really like. He just needs a chance. As the free agent signings start coming in it's looking more and more like the Phins will be taking QB Matt Ryan or OT Jake Long with that first pick. If Calvin Pace signs as rumored then you can definteley put the nail in the coffin on a Chris Long or Vernon Gholston pick.

I am just telling you what I heard on 790 the ticket News Flash. They specifically said that the Dolphins are not going to be trading Jason Taylor this year. Now unless you guys have some viable sources on the inside. I am going to take this news as being pretty solid.

If the Phins don't take Long, I want all of them fired. Plain and simple. I called Cameron's firing two weeks into the season, and I'm calling the Parcells era over right now if they mess it up.

Sorry Owen looks like 3-4 OLB is going to be taken care of via free agency.

Chris Long is still an option with or without a FA OLB. ProFootballTalk.com MM's was on Joe Rose's show today and he envisions C. Long as a player with a Z. Thomas-type engine but more powerful and athletic. He also mentioned that C. Long could play ANY of the 7 defensive front positions. Someone like that, you just take.
