The Sunshine State will take center this Saturday, as the Miami Hurricanes will take on their rival, the Florida State Seminoles in a pivotal ACC battle at Dolphin Stadium. The Seminoles have won three of their first four games, including a convincing, 39-21 victory over Colorado this past weekend. FSU has struggled in ACC action since the beginning of the 2005 campaign, posting a mere 12-13 ledger against conference foes. As for the Hurricanes, they are coming off a heartbreaking, 28-24 loss to North Carolina this past weekend. It was the fifth consecutive conference loss for Miami, which is just 5-12 against ACC teams since the beginning of the 2006 season. In respects to the all-time series on the gridiron, the Hurricanes hold a 30-22 edge over FSU, and that includes a 39-27 victory over the Seminoles last year.
UM is 7-2 in its past nine games against FSU. A reason is the Canes have made 15 interceptions while allowing just nine touchdown passes. Ponder might be more of a caretaker this weekend because FSU's running game is averaging more than 200 yards a game this season.
