D.Hall Free Agent? Do we sign?

Post#1 » by GameTime_3 » Wed Nov 5, 2008 6:22 am

DeAngelo Hall is free, do we go after him? At 24 years old, his one of the best, when his mind is in it. DeAngelo could sign here and hope to show case his skills. I for one would love to sign this guy, we really need a CB and Hall would be the answer. This also would allow us to use our picks on other position, such as WR and D Tackle

Angered by the Oakland Raiders' 2-6 start, team owner Al Davis asked his front office staff to explore the possibility of releasing several players, including cornerback DeAngelo Hall, according to multiple sources.

The Raiders are expected to release Hall on Wednesday, sources told ESPN's Michael Smith.

The team was planning on making the move to release Hall on Tuesday before holding off, according to NFL.com. The Raiders have paid Hall $8 million for eight games, and also gave Atlanta a second-round pick for his services.

NFL.com reported the move to waive him now helps the Raiders avoid paying Hall $16 million worth of injury-guaranteed bonuses in his contract

Well the Dolphins cut Derek Hagan and that opens up a roster spot. Maybe to save someone from out practice squad since the Raiders are going to cleanup the best PS players from other teams. Or maybe Javon Walker, who might be cut as well? Who knows, but this could turn interesting. Another player in the hot seat over there is Michael Huff who was a stud Safety a couple of years ago at Texas.

These are the types of players that Parcells seems to take chances on at times. Hall is extremely talented and has more upside than any player in our secondary right now. While Will Allen is playing like a pro bowler and Goodman has stepped up I think Hall would be a great addition to the team as a third cover corner.

I don't know how the salaries work in the NFL, so my decision is contingent on whether the Dolphins have to pay his ridiculous contract he got in the off season. If we can sign him to our own terms, then I'd go for it, but if it has to be under the old terms, then I'd say no.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

^IISC, Mortensen was on ESPN last night saying, now that he has cleared waivers, he's a Free Agent, and the team that signs him, will have no ramifications going towards them of his previous deal.

this team, save for porter, is one w/o egos and primadonnas. and, adding him would've been doing just that, something imo parcells is trying to stay away from and get HIS kind of players, of which Hall doesn't seem like.
