Pennington: My Wife And I Circled Week 17 Midseason
22nd December, 2008 - 12:44 pm
SI.com - The Dolphins and Jets will meet on Sunday with the AFC Division on the line and the game will have special meaning for Chad Pennington, who was released and signed with Miami shortly before the season began.
"My wife and I talked about this around midseason," Pennington told SI's Peter King. "We said to each other: 'It's going to come down to the last game. It has to. There's really no other way.'
"Only fate would have it this way," Pennington said. "It what's great about sports -- it always comes to something like, or at least it seems that way. To have it come down to the final game, in New York, well, it's amazing."

This is a MUST WIN, MUST WIN game - but no pressure - Of all the games that they put on TV nationally, they picked the best one, thanks cbs.

I live in Tennessee and have suffered watching the Titans, Falcons, and Colts all year. Will I get this game? God please let me get this game.
As for the game.....The playoffs start on Sunday. We need a big contribution from our running game. I don't care who does it or how but we need to controll this game running the ball and flawless defense. If we provide those two Chad will take care of the rest. It's been painfull to see such an all time favorite of mine like Brett Favre play for probably the team I hate the most in the NFL.
Lets do this Miami...Handle them and move on.

What an insane season this has been. Sometimes they don't look like a playoff team, but you can say the same thing about most of the other teams vying for a playoff spot. So why not the Dolphins? Humiliate the Jets Tony.
Free Jason Allen.

Re: Fins @ Jets, Sun, 4:15
So many storylines in this game, so much to talk about, but it won't mean anything w/o the W.
He's got a chance to take the dolphins to the greatest turnaround in NFl history and into the playoffs...all while sending his former team, that cut him loose, home and eliminated from playoff contention......and oh yeah this might be Favre's last NFL game....(again)
This is the type of game that's the reason why we love sports.
It's all on the line...win or go home...who wants it more??

Run the ball, and stop the run, and you win this game
Brett has been struggling. His deep ball has been mediocre this year too.
You know Pennington won't turn the ball over.
Come on ronnie, get it done.

Crowder is listed as questionable but he said he's one hundred percent and that he's going to play. He also said Will Allen is going to play.

The weather for this afternoon's game is going to be in the low 60s and cloudy skies (no rain); can't ask for anything better than that in the weather department.

Mortensen on ESPN just reported that should Huizenga sell the Phins, Parcells has an out clause where he can leave the Phins and is a FA to go anywhere he chooses to do so.
WHAT??
WHAT??

Tuna fishing? Parcells has opt-out clause
Will Bill Parcells become a free agent -- again?
It's a possibility, hinging on whether Miami Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga's sale of his majority ownership of the team goes through, sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.
When Parcells joined the Dolphins as executive vice president of football operations last year, his deal included a one-time out clause that allowed him to walk away, with the rest of his $12 million guaranteed contract fully paid, no strings attached, if Huizenga sold the team.
Earlier this year, Huizenga agreed to sell 95 percent of the Dolphins to New York developer Stephen Ross. Huizenga hopes to close on the deal by early January to ensure that the capital gains taxes on the sale remain at 15 percent before President-elect Barack Obama takes the oath of office in January, Mortensen reported.

I'm waching the Pats game and rooting for them (to deflate the Jets hopes, but they're still alive until they lose or Baltimore wins), and it's making me nervous. Think I might go watch the Giants game.

All we gotta do is hold the lead. Three eight minute drives will do it.
