Dolphins and Fasono Not Talking Extension

The Dolphins have yet to open extension negotiations with contract-year TE Anthony Fasano.
The sides haven't even approached each other. Fasano, 25, was the fantasy TE9 last season, his first as a starter. However, he's unlikely to repeat his seven touchdowns and is more of a TE2 this year. Fasano is due $535,000 in salary.

I would wait until we see how he does this year, then I would consider offering him a contract if he plays well. And if he doesn't, then I would let him walk.

There's really no reason for him not to do well. Had a good first year. Should be more comfortable in the offense and with Penny. Still hasn't reached his prime yet. He's a natural red zone threat. There's no reason for him not to repeat his seven tds if not improve on them. Phins should look to extend him before the price goes up.

Always liked Fasono. Maybe they want to see one more year before they extend him an offer.
