I'd call that questionable depth at best, especially at DT.

Fred Evans.
DT is very solid. The suspension hearing is what has everyone worried - but that area is strong with those 5.

And good find on Kemp. I thought he'd be drafted for sure. Ian Johnson can be this year's Mo Hicks.

Quick question fellow Vikes fans: If Harvin works out at RB, would we trade Chester Taylor? We would probably be able to get decent value for him?

I doubt that scenario plays out, but I suppose it's in the realm of possibility.

If Harvin is going to be the 3rd down back he will need to fulfill the pass protection that taylor does. For that reason alone I doubt it happens. I could see us using him as a RB sometimes, but not as a protection back. Taylor is a good vet that does not complain about reps.

i would guess that percy and chester would both be on the field on third down :dontknow:

:reporter: It's third and 2, snap to Sage....play action to Chester....reverse to Harvin........HE TURNS THE CORNER......30.....20..ONE MAN TO BEAT...10....TOUCHDOWN VIKINGS!!

I really like what we did in the draft this year. I like the heavy SEC bent to it, with the only pick not from that conference being Loadholt, who I also like.

Harvin, at the very least, will make the Vikings more fun to play with in Madden. The off the field stuff concerns me a bit, but his ability to run after the catch alleviates that. I liked what he said after the draft, it was something along the lines of "They've shown me they got my back, now I'm going to show them I've got theirs."

Loadholt gives us two mammoth tackles and looks to be downright beastly as a run blocker. I was a little perplexed when Harvin was picked over Oher, but Loaholt made up for that, since the thing that really separated the two of them (aside from the book and eventual movie about Oher, and the awesome OL name for Loadholt) was Oher's ability to play LT, which didn't matter much for us.

Allen seems like a nice pick in the 3rd. I like most of what I read on him, hopefully he spends some time learning from Winfield.

Brinkley got some buzz as a potential 1st rounder after his junior season, then got hurt and redshirted the next year and didn't look fully recovered when he came back (he played his senior season at 270 lbs). Tip of the cap to his parents for naming their twins Jasper and Casper (who I think plays TE for Carolina).

I really, really like what I've read about Sanford. 4 year starter for Ole Miss, at safety, LB, and cornerback. Apparently he's pretty fast and hits hard. The special teams needed a lot of help last year, and the safety position needs some depth as well. Sanford might be able to contribute in both those areas.

I've been watching YouTube highlights of Harvin and Peterson all day. I can't wait, it should be exciting.

Weak spot is the Off Coord. Sad enough it was that way last year as well.

^And every year since McCombs was too cheap to keep Linehan around.
