Mets @ Giants Series | May 7th -> May 9th

LETS GO METS!!

Image @ Image

Oliver Perez vs. Barry Zito
Scouting Report:
Mets: Perez was sharp early in his start on Wednesday, striking out 10 Marlins through the first five innings. But control problems and defensive miscues behind him cut his day short in the sixth. Still, it was enough for Perez to earn his third win, his first as a Met against any team other than the Braves. He'll look for another at San Francisco, where he has yet to win in three tries.

Giants: Zito ended April on a roll with three consecutive quality starts, and he's carried that momentum into May. In his start against Colorado on Wednesday, Zito allowed two runs and four hits in seven innings. Although he didn't pick up a win, Zito stifled the Rockies stellar offense and looked strong through 122 pitches.

Tom Glavine @ Matt Cain
Scouting Report:
Mets: By now, Glavine could be four victories from career win No. 300. He has pitched well enough to win each of his last three starts -- sporting a .4.00 ERA in those outings -- but came away with three no-decisions. The Mets won two of the three and now have won 29 of the 39 games he has started since the beginning of last season.

Giants: Cain is usually the Giants most dominate starter, but in his last trip to mound the power righty had trouble finding control against Philadelphia. Cain, who allowed only 12 hits combined before Thursday's start, was rocked for seven runs on eight hits before being pulled in the fourth inning with no outs. The three-inning outing was the shortest of Cain's career, but it probably felt like the longest, as he threw 87 pitches.

John Maine vs. Matt Morris
Scouting Report:
Mets: Maine became the second National League pitcher to win five games when he allowed one run in six innings -- his second shortest workday in six starts this season -- against the Diamondbacks Friday night. he has yet to allow more than two runs. He has struck out 37 in 39 1/3 innings.

Giants: It took Morris an inning to warm up in his last start, but the veteran righty shut down the Phillies offense and gave the Giants a seven-inning start. After allowing two runs in the first inning, Morris threw six shutout innings allowing only five hits while the Giants' offense inched back to win. Wednesday will mark Morris' first start this season against the Mets, who Morris is 6-3 with a 3.33 ERA against.

I don't like Lincecum ... that kid is a freak injury waiting to happen with the way he throws.

First popcorn creates a homerun, now the freaking wall creates one. That wasn't even close to hitting the fan.

Hidden agendas from Zito tonight? This is his ha ha ha game for not signing him. Either way that inning killed us, they get this game but we need to take the series.
