Braun entered play Saturday batting .366 with eight homers, 17 RBI, a .434 on-base percentage and .731 slugging percentage.

Why isn't he up here???

Graff is hitting .232 with a .316 OBP and a robust .275 SLG. He has one extra base hit all year. I'm shocked you don't think Braun could do better than that. Maybe you just don't realize how bad Counsellino has been.
Our 3B position is easily one of the bottom 3 in all of baseball. 3B is usually a source of power and run production yet our 3B should never hit higher than 8th.

It's been almost as bad as having 2 pitchers bat.

okay maybe i cant call him A-Rod yet, but it is hard to deny how horrible our 3rd basemen have been. Its just a choke hazard to watch every night. I also believe that Braun's defense has been a little overlooked this year in AAA. I just think it is pathetic to use this platoon when there is no run production, XBHs, and when ur slugging below .300 thats just pathetic. Its time to put him in and take our offense to a new level. look at the impact that Hunter Pence has had with Houston. He is giving them great production...

i know we are winning right now, but we have a lot of tough teams coming up and we can use all of the offense we can get from the 3rd base spot and we aren't getting jack from counsellino.

Nobody has mentioned it yet but Gallardo did get another win again yesterday. Here was his line:

Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Gallardo, Y (W, 4-1) 7.0 1 0 0 3 9 0 2.19

He did go 0-3 at the plate though and brought his batting average down to a measly 0.300. He better get out of that slump or I don't know about him.

Our third base production certainly gets more and more laughable as each game passes. The positive is that the team keeps winning, but we'll see how the squad does when they aren't beating on the Pirates or Nationals (and whoever said the Pirates were a talented squad, I laugh in your direction; Kruk and acronym). Honestly, once this team cools off a bit and starts relying on all position players to hit the ball occasionally, management will make a move. I'm certain Braun would have been called up by now if this team was close to .500. It's embarrassing to look at the 3rd base production. They're winning though, but again no thanks to those 2 clowns at the 'not so' hot corner.

About 12.5 K's per 9 innings for YoGo in case you were wondering.

I'm definitely disappointed in the lack of offensive production we're getting from 3rd base, but we have enough elsewhere that we can afford to have ONE position of weakness. Furthermore, while I am encouraged by the progress Braun is making defensively, Counsell and Graffy are fantastic in the hot corner defensively and I'm positive they're both making plays over there that Braun would not be making. I consider it a luxury that we can afford to leave him down there to play every day and develop while Counsell and Graffy offer solid veteran presences in the locker room and solid defense.

They're hardly fantastic. Maybe slightly above average. And I love how people can say they're making plays that Braun couldn't. How does anyone know this? How many games have you seen him play?

Well Graff and Couns are both batting under 200 now, and they have more errors than braun in AAA. Its time for the callup. We are going to be facing some great offensive clubs in the next few weeks and i tell u what we really need to get someone who won't be an automatic out. Im not saying Braun will hit 400 and hit 30 HRs but i think he can come up and be a really good player and push for rookie of the year.

I wouldn't call either Graffy or Counsell fantastic on D, in fact, Graff has been pretty brutal this season.

Strolling through today's boxscore for Nashville I came across an interesting pinch hitter.

I wish Braun would get back out there. Now they have an excuse not to bring him up for awhile. :nonono:
